We are often asked “do you only offer lessons?” We run lessons all year for individuals and up to 3 people sharing but also a number of other formats.

Novice taster sessions give groups of 2 to 30 or more the chance to shoot clays at a few different angles culminating with a short competition. Groups often take these sessions as part of a weekend away, a celebration, a work outing, etc. No experience is necessary and we give instruction to get everyone breaking targets.

Simulated game days are a full day format for teams of 8-12 experienced shots. The day is run along similar lines to a real game shoot being broken up into 5 drives totalling 2500-3000 clays. Lunch and refreshments are supplied throughout the day.

Practice rounds for experienced shots wishing to use our ground without instruction are available for groups of 2 to 8 people. You will be guided around to help you get the best out of the various traps and angles on offer. Typically we look to create a round of 100 clays over the course of 12 stands.

Harry Orchard, a familiar face to many of our long-standing clients, sadly left this world yesterday evening.
Harry came to us as a trapper in 1996 a role to which he applied a wicked sense of humour for the following 12 years. Even then, he couldn’t stay away, so as an excuse for regular catch ups over cups of tea, he continued delivering clays to us right up to the end of last year. I’m sure we all hope to be getting out and doing things at the age of 87.
He is probably best remembered by us and our clients for the regular political arguments (wind ups?) between him and Rod across the gun room table. If there is an afterlife, they have probably picked up right where they left off!
