Every body is a summer body….
With a trip to Greece on the horizon, I thought that as a personal trainer, I had to be shredded in order to feel good during my holiday.
In January, I was well on course to ‘look good’, the weight was falling off, I hadn’t trained much in December due to work commitments but I was still making progress
Due to these work commitments, I completely fell out of love for training, I was un-motivated and struggled to find time (that old chestnut) to get to the gym, pairing that with a calorie deficit and feeling weak and having no energy to lift heavy, I just thought ‘what’s the point’.
Fast forward to March, I decided that in order to get back into a training routine, I would ditch the calorie deficit. I can’t tell you how good it felt not not constantly eat out of Tupperware and track calories.
Even though I’ve put most of the weight back on, I’m now training 5/6 days per week, strength is coming back and I’m actually motivated to train again.
What to take away from this post:
1) you don’t need to look a certain way to enjoy a holiday
2) don’t force yourself to do something when your mind isn’t in it
3) don’t be afraid of taking a step back in order to take 2 steps forward
Let’s get this holiday out the way and go again 💪
