With Wiltshire entering tier 3 and who knows what down the road, some of you might be wondering about the skatepark.

Don’t worry. Gov guidelines for tier 4 allow outdoor skateparks to remain open. Guidance states that you can exercise alone, with members of your household, your support bubble or one other person in any outdoor setting.

If you use a busy outdoor park with others that fall outside of the guidance above then follow the social distancing rules.

COVID UPDATE
We're happy to announce that the government has confirmed that organised sports and activities, including skateboarding, can continue.

It is essential that those involved in outdoor skateboarding activities adhere to the social distancing and other guidelines previously issued by Skateboard England and taking into account the restriction of 6 people socialising.

People can continue to use indoor leisure facilities, including skateparks, gyms and pools and classes within these venues can continue as they are now as long as the skatepark is operating as a Covid-secure venue. However, people should not go to these venues socially in groups of more than six.

THE SKATEBOARD BOOM⠀
Skateboarding across the UK is seeing a massive resurgence and there are currently more people skateboarding now than since the last spike 20 years ago (caused by the release of Tony Hawk Pro Skater for Playstation).⠀
⠀
The growth in skateboarding has emerged as an unlikely outcome from the covid lockdown, because of the ease of picking up a board and being able to skate anywhere (especially earlier in the year when there were tighter restrictions).⠀
⠀
The big increases have been in females taking up the sport, couples skateboarding as an activity they can do together and older generations who used to skate in their youth and are now re-engaging with skateboarding, either alone or with their children.⠀

We've seen shops selling out of hardware over the summer, skateparks that are the busiest they've ever been and people skating in every car park in the land.⠀

And with Skateboarding making its debut at the Olympic Games next year, there's no sign of it slowing down! WHICH IS AMAZING!⠀

The bin up here has litter in it so thanks to those that use it, got your heads in order 👍 Still some beer bottle tops, some sweet wrappers and rollie filters lying around. They won’t biodegrade any time soon so please just use the bin, makes the place feel a whole lot nicer 👌🙏

The skatepark is a place to learn, enjoy and socialise.

Please respect other riders, take turns and help each other out if anyone is in difficulty.

If you use it, don't abuse it!

Hi everyone.

Contrary to what's been said the parish council have asked everyone to not enter or use the skatepark since it's still officially a construction site.

Even though building has finished, machinery is lying around and the grass needs time to root.

PLEASE follow this request, we know it's hard but it's not for long - we promise.
