The year was 2012.

The CrossFit Open kicked off with one of the simplest workouts ever programmed.

7 minutes.
As many burpees as possible.

Fourteen years later, the sport has changed beyond recognition.

We've added incredible skills, heavier weights and movements we never imagined.

Yet this workout still asks the same question...

Can you keep moving when it gets hard?

The basics never go out of style.

And maybe that's why 12.1 remains one of the purest tests of fitness.

We're bringing it back tomorrow 😎

Can anyone beat 2012 Froning 141 reps?!

Every January, millions of people decide this is the year they’ll get fit.
Most start with genuine motivation.
Many don’t make it to spring.
The easy conclusion is that people lack discipline.
We don’t think that’s true.
In our experience, most people don’t fail because they aren’t trying hard enough. They fail because they’re expected to create their own programme, judge their own intensity, stay accountable on their own and somehow keep progressing month after month.
That’s a difficult system for anyone.
Long-term progress rarely comes from trying harder.
It comes from following a better plan.
That’s why structured programming, coaching and accountability matter so much.
We’ve explored this in much more detail in our latest blog.

Why random workouts don’t work.
Most people don’t struggle because they aren’t working hard enough.
They struggle because their training lacks structure.
One day becomes cardio, another day a few machines, maybe some weights if they’re feeling confident. The problem is there’s no progression and no clear direction.
Over time, the body adapts and results start to stall.
Programming matters because it provides:
• Structured progression
• Balanced movement patterns
• Measurable results
• A clear purpose for every session
Add coaching and accountability to that structure and progress becomes far more predictable.
The question isn’t whether you’re working hard.
It’s whether your training has a plan.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 COME ON ENGLAND! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

From the gym floor to the world stage, we're all behind the Three Lions! 💪⚽

This week at CrossFit Rudis, our community swapped lifting belts for England shirts and came together to show our support as the World Cup journey continues.

Just like in CrossFit, success comes from hard work, resilience, teamwork, and believing in the people beside you. Whether you're stepping onto the competition floor or onto the biggest stage in football, the mindset is the same:

🔥 Trust the process
🔥 Back your team
🔥 Never quit
🔥 Leave everything out there

Good luck to England from all of us at CrossFit Rudis. We'll be cheering every tackle, every save, every goal, and every moment.

One Nation. One Team. One Goal. Bring It Home.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽🦁🦁🦁

Going to the gym but not seeing results?

If you’ve been training consistently but not making progress, the issue is rarely effort.

Most people start with good intentions. They train a few times each week, mix cardio with weights and try to make healthy choices.

The problem is usually structure.

Without a clear plan, progression and accountability, workouts become repetitive and results start to stall.

What actually drives progress is following a programme that builds over time, receiving coaching feedback and training in an environment that encourages consistency.

Having a structured approach allows for progressive overload, balanced development, movement improvement and addressing weaknesses before they become limitations.

Add coaching, accountability and a supportive community, and training becomes much more effective.

We’ve covered this in more detail in our latest blog.
