Another successful British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue Training course run on Sunday 2 Oct at Saltford Shallows. And the last under the current syllabus, the new paddlesport Safety and rescue starts in jan 2023 and I will start to deliver in march when the weather and water is warmer!! Students on Sunday had variety of paddling backgrounds, variety of skills and levels of experience. All finished with a repertoire of new skills to be applied to incidents if they occur. Great feed back from students:
"Really knowledgeable and competent instructor. Course covered many different rescues so some more relevant than others but very good coverage of multiple scenarios" Nicola W.
"Was really fun and made enjoyable and informative" Maddie C.
"Paul was amazing, would highly recommend" Josh T.
Now to attend the Moderation event for the new S&R course and then on to the British Canoeing Coaching and Leadership Conference.

Well ,after the July holiday August was a quiet month workwise. The Youth Connect South West/ Bathscape project started with teenage youngsters having 2 hr kayaking sessions based out of Bath Canoe Club and then working with Bath Paddleboard Centre delivering SUP Taster sessions. As a break I was helping with 8th Norwich Sea Scouts on their Alternative Camp based at Biblins, Forest of Dean and plenty of canoeing on the R Wye. Tonight will be the first delivery of a new Paddle Safer Award and then into September. The month is due to bring in kayaking work, some First Aid training and now the schools are back Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition training.
