Weightlifting Scotland has a lot to celebrate, from our Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games team to the growth of our clubs, competitions, and development pathways across the country.

Behind all of this success are our volunteers.

Weightlifting Scotland relies heavily on people who give their time freely alongside jobs, family, and training.

They run competitions, coach squads, manage communications, handle records, and keep our sport moving forward.

They do this simply because they care about weightlifting.

It is deeply disappointing that, against this positive backdrop, we must remind the community that WLS will not tolerate abuse, harassment, intimidation, or inappropriate pressure directed at volunteers.

We always welcome constructive feedback. Frustrations or concerns should be raised through appropriate channels in a respectful manner.

However, volunteers should not be subjected to abusive, antagonistic, or repeated messages—particularly via social media or outside reasonable hours. No one giving their time freely should feel targeted or personally attacked.

WLS will take appropriate action where boundaries are crossed, which may include limiting or removing access to WLS communication channels.

We want WLS to be open, supportive, and accountable, but that means protecting the people who give their energy to support our sport.

To all our volunteers across clubs, competitions, and committees: your contribution is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.

Thank you for everything you do.

As a sport, we achieve far more when we treat each other with respect. 🏋️‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We are incredibly proud to present our Weightlifting Scotland lifters with their Special Edition Team Scotland, Glasgow 2026 Singlets.

These aren’t just pieces of kit—they are earned through every early morning, every failed rep, and the relentless grit that happens when nobody is watching.

Hard work happens in the dark, but your excellence shines on the platform.

Wear them with pride. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
