I have some provisional plans in motion for a
Learn to Lift programme

This would be a 6 week block in Alloa at 7pm (day not decided). Geared for ladies who who feel anxious in the gym or unsure how to set up a barbell for squats. Dead lifts etc.

- gym programme also provided for during & after
- whatsapp community chat for questions, shares, extra resources
- held in a private gym allowing for a safe space to be created
-optional social lunch at the end of the block (not included in the price)
- Limited to 6 ladies

Message me on my personal account Barb Millar if you would be interested so I can gage what interest there is. I know I would have welcomed something like this years ago as the barbell racks looked overwhelming.

Ladies I have opened up 3 coaching spaces.

This is for those of you who are fed up of the yo-yo diet regain and want to lose 10lbs or more for good.

I know what it is to feel stuck, like it is hopeless and be a bit lost in the confusion of it all. This is why I am ready to get in the mess with you and really help build those changes that last. Daily movement before the storm kicks in later.

Getting steps in is easy on sunny spring/summer days but Autumn/winter is where we need to up the game plan and have solid options in play.

๐Ÿ”นDress for the weather and get them done anyway
๐Ÿ”นUse pockets of time (15 mins pre work, lunchbreak and after work). This can add up to big differences over the week.
๐Ÿ”นTreadmill at gym or home for extreme days.
๐Ÿ”นYouTube "10k step" videos. Basically low impact aerobics.
๐Ÿ”นDo the housework
๐Ÿ”นEat high quality, high protein meals with 2-3 portions fruit & veg. Where there is less movement, food quality and any calorie defecit will need to level up.

If you are going with a friend then great, it can help when you are new and nervous. Relying on a friend or even a PT on a session to session basis robs you of the power you have within to fight for you, to push for your results, to first of all get accountable to YOURSELF for YOUR goals.

Stepping through the door alone, lets you zero out excuses and distractions. It gives you that hour in the day to focus purely on you, your goals and becoming the strongest, fittest version of you. It is a time to get not just physically strong but mentally tough.

It can be a struggle to hit a protein goal sometimes if we are not used to having one.

In the past this is a concept I would struggle with myself ....
Thinking I had to be perfect
I messed the day up that's the week ruined!
Getting annoyed at myself for "failing"!

What can help??
๐Ÿ”ฅDon't go from zero to hero. Hitting 50g of protein a day? Great! Lets build it up in steps and hit 60g and worry about the 90 later.
๐Ÿ”ฅThat takes away the frustration of the all or nothing mentality and lets you feel successful where you are at. We grow it rather than stay stuck.
๐Ÿ”ฅFind meals you enjoy. Build your protein around those meals.
๐Ÿ”ฅTrack. You will only know where you are at if you track. Tracking is not about showing you mistakes...it is about letting you see where you are at so you can improve it. We track what we want to see grow and change.
