A few weeks ago, Erica sent me a message.

She said, 'I have no strength and feel I should start some weight lifting (obviously light!).'

Erica turns 70 in October 💗

Six weeks later, she's regularly joining our kettlebell classes twice a week, and honestly, she's doing brilliantly.

What I love most isn't how much weight she's lifting or how quickly she's progressing (although her jumping jacks are pretty inspirational!). It's that she decided to begin ✨

Starting something new can feel daunting at any age. It's easy to think you need to be fitter, stronger, more confident, or somehow more 'ready' before you walk through the door.

The truth is, most people don't feel ready when they start. They simply decide to give it a go.

They take that first step and, over time, start to fall in love with the way exercise makes them feel - stronger, fitter, more energetic, and with a quiet confidence in what their body is capable of.

Not because of one perfect workout, but because they keep showing up.

And that's what I admire about Erica... She decided to start - and she kept going 💫

Friday Kettlebells 💗

Such a great session with this wonderful bunch this morning.

Last week they asked for no repeats, so I made sure every exercise was different. Wall sits were also on the request list... and of course, they got those too! ✨

It was definitely a sweaty one, but there's something so satisfying about finishing a workout, knowing you've challenged yourself and given it your all.

A brilliant start to the weekend. Well done, everyone! 💫

Today’s delightful lunchtime 5-mile run came after teaching two kettlebell sessions, so the legs were already feeling it. But occasionally, running on tired legs can be a good thing. It helps build mental resilience and teaches your body to keep moving efficiently when fatigue kicks in.

I won't lie, it felt tough today, but I 100% feel better for it 💗

What a lovely evening to be outdoors with this fantastic kettlebell team.

With the sunshine making a welcome appearance, we took our session outside to enjoy some fresh air and make the most of the beautiful weather ☀️

5 Cable Machine Core Exercises ✨

5 cable machine exercises I've recently been incorporating into my personal training sessions. They focus on core stability, anti-rotation strength, and controlled rotational movement. Simple variations, but a great challenge for the core 💗

The circuit includes a resisted shoulder press walk, Pallof press variations, plank shoulder taps, bear plank steps, and high-to-low woodchops. I kept the resistance light and the movements controlled to prioritise technique, stability, and quality of movement 💫
