Tickhill Running & Athletic Club - TRAC

Tickhill Running & Athletic Club - TRAC If you are looking for a friendly, local running club, then TRAC (Tickhill Running & Athletic Club) is the right place to be.

Mixed ability runners, no one is left behind! We train (or run) on a Tuesday and run on a Thursday from Tickhill Cricket Club. TRAC
The club now has around 80 members and prides itself on providing a friendly sociable running club for people over the age of 16 and of all abilities. Tuesdays and Thursdays we meet at Tickhill Cricket Club at 7.00pm for a 7.15pm start. We also meet on Saturday mornin

gs at 9am for an informal run. The club was founded in June 2005 by a small group of people who identified a need for a running club for Tickhill and its surrounding areas, and an ambition to provide access by means of the club for people wishing to start running in the Doncaster, South Yorkshire region. TRAINING NIGHT - Tuesdays

7:00pm for 7:15pm start - Free to members

Tuesday sessions are structured training sessions, provided by our qualified coach Christine Stimpson. These sessions involve speed work, intervals, hill work, tempo runs and much more. CLUB NIGHT - Thursdays

7:00pm for 7:15pm start - Free to members

Thursday meetings are the traditional run around the streets of Tickhill, or in the surrounding countryside when the weather permits, where we may run between 3 and 6 miles or more for the keen ones in training.

This time tomorrow we will be ready to start our 24hr “Scooby-Doo-athon” raising money for St John's Hospice in Balby. We will be fundraising around the pubs tomorrow evening and collecting in the village on Saturday whilst our members run 5k laps of the village. Please support us with claps and cheers if you see us running, come and run a lap with us if you fancy it, (you’ll earn a Scooby-Doo keyring!) and please donate to this fantastic cause. QR code below for those who don’t carry cash. 😊👏🏻🏃‍♂️

3 groups out tonight with our first off road evening run of the year. 🎉 All different speeds and distances around the same basic route. Lovely to be off tarmac. We love light nights. ❤️

Resilient and determined 💪🏻 (or plain bonkers! 🤪) Over 20 of us braved the torrential rain for a run around the village or a training session on St Mary’s Crescent. Go team TRAC. 🎉🏅

Hello peeps. Time to set a date for the scooby-do-athon. 🎉🏅🥂

Have checked with the cricket club. We can have any weekend in June. There is a cricket match every Saturday daytime which will help with our fundraising but will also mean that we will have to use a gazebo on the grass for the daytime on Saturday. We can use a room for the Friday night though.

I’m going to put a poll in the WhatsApp group to see when most people are available. I will also take into account those who run multiple laps as we need them!

The other consideration is the charity we run for. Ideally we want something local to inspire donations but will consider all suggestions. I’m going to ask the tickhill community forum for suggestions too.

So post your suggestions and tick all dates you can manage. X
