Tuesday night was a brilliant session on the water 🌊

Plenty of “successful” capsizes from our trainees — all part of the learning and great to see everyone pushing themselves, getting stuck in, and having a laugh while doing it!

Confidence is growing every week… even if that means ending up upside down now and then 😄

Well done everyone 👏

Great start to this year’s sailing at the yacht club!

After our TEMPR race, we had Katie leading with 6, followed by newcomer Louis on 2, with Donald, Vikky and Andy all on 1…

…oh wait, those weren’t points — those were capsizes 😄

We managed to get two races in before the third had to be abandoned, as we went to assist Katie after she picked up an injury during one of her (many!) swims.

All in good spirits and a reminder that early-season sailing always keeps things interesting. Wishing Katie a speedy recovery — and maybe slightly fewer capsizes next time!

Final winner for today’s race was our newcomer Louis, followed very closely behind by Katie, then Andy.

❄️ COLD TURKEY RACE DAY! ❄️

Today 10/01/2026 @11:00 is our legendary Cold Turkey Race — the one for our hardened sailors who are brave (or daft!) enough to take on the freezing Pentland Firth for the honour of being the best sailor of 2026 (so far!) 🏆⛵

We’re still looking for:
👉 Safety boat crew
👉 More sailors or crew willing to jump in and join the fun

Whether it turns into an epic race…
or a very practical lesson in why hypothermia is no joke 🥶😂
…it’s always one of our favourite days of the year!

Wrap up warm, bring the banter, and let’s kick off 2026 with some proper Caithness sailing spirit! 🌊⛵
