That's a wrap on another fantastic netball season! 🏐💙

As we finish up for the summer, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our club this year. From our amazing players, dedicated coaches, committed umpires, and supportive volunteers, to everyone who helped with training, fundraising, match days, and all the behind-the-scenes jobs that keep the club running – we couldn't do it without you.

Your hard work, enthusiasm, and support have made this season such a success, and we're incredibly grateful to each and every one of you.

We hope you all have a wonderful summer, and we can't wait to welcome everyone back at the end of August, ready to come back bigger and better for another exciting season!

🏆 Celebrating an Unforgettable Season: Thurso Netball Club Awards Night 2025/2026 🥂

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday night to celebrate an incredible year of netball!

Before our main event Thurso Netball Club Juniors hosted their 1st awards. As a new club, they are already doing so much to grow and champion netball in the North. A huge thank you to Tegan, Mia, Leelee, Lisa and the young leaders for your outstanding dedication to the next generation of players! 🙌

This season has been one for the history books for Thurso Netball Club:

We successfully put forward two competitive teams in the Highland and Moray League for the first time.

We officially achieved our Thistle Mark accreditation, ensuring our club continues to operate safely, with top-tier safeguarding and structural standards.

None of this would be possible without the players, volunteers, fundraisers and supporters who make this club such an amazing community.

Thurso Vikings put in a determined and competitive performance against Inverness Emeralds, narrowly losing 38–43 in a match that was far closer than the final score suggests.
From the first whistle, Cally Sinclair and Neave MacLeod worked effectively together in the circle, finding space well and converting under pressure. Through midcourt, Sophie Pritchard and Eilidh Rosie provided solid support, linking play and driving the ball forward with purpose into the shooting circle.
Defensively, Hannah Perriewood, Kerry Moran, and Talitha Williamson applied consistent pressure, forcing errors and creating turnover opportunities that kept Vikings firmly in the contest throughout the early stages. The game remained tight, with both sides exchanging runs and neither able to establish a clear advantage.
Aimee Wilson and Amy Martin added valuable energy, maintaining intensity and contributing to the team’s overall effort as the match progressed.
As the game moved into the final stages, Inverness Emeralds capitalised on a series of turnovers, punishing lost possession and gradually extending their lead. While the scoreboard began to stretch, it didn’t reflect just how competitive the match had been, with Vikings battling hard and staying within reach for much of the game.
Despite the result, it was a strong showing from Thurso Vikings, demonstrating resilience & teamwork. These positives can be taken into the next match, a final game of the season on Saturday the 25th of April.

Awarded Player of the Match was the lovely Cally Sinclair, who continues to impress us all with her fantastic shooting with a smile on her face! Well done, Cally🤩

On Sunday, Thurso Selkies faced Inverness Diamonds in a home match. Selkies delivered a spirited performance in what proved to be a tough game, eventually falling 32–44 after a hard-fought contest.
The opening quarter showcased some excellent goal-for-goal netball, with Selkies matching Diamonds stride for stride. The attacking combination of Vicki Swan and Mia Bain worked tirelessly in the circle, converting opportunities with confidence, while Abby Cook and Anna Swanson worked well to create opportunities for them, moving the ball through midcourt.
Building on that momentum, Selkies began to pull away in the second quarter. Strong defensive pressure from Emma Sutherland, Eva Stewart, and Ilona Campbell disrupted Diamonds’ rhythm, allowing Selkies to edge into a promising lead heading into half time. This was a wonderful feeling for the team.
After the break, changes were introduced, with Leah Bond and Laura Bain coming into play. Despite fresh legs, renewed energy and tacticle changes, Inverness Diamonds responded strongly, capitalising on turnovers and shifting the momentum firmly in their favour. Their attacking unit found consistency, and they steadily built a lead through the third quarter.
Selkies showed great determination in the final quarter, digging deep to close the gap. The team fought back with intensity, showing resilience and teamwork across the court. However, despite the surge, Diamonds maintained their advantage to secure the win.
A challenging result, but plenty of positives to take forward—particularly a never-give-up attitude right to the final whistle.

Our very well-deserved Player of the Match was Emma Sutherland, who showed energy and power across the midcourt. Well done Emma! ⭐️

Well done to the team! We look forward to hosting Fyrish Flyers at Wick High School on Saturday the 25th of April. Centre Pass- 12:45pm. This will be our final game of the season and is sure to be a fun and competitive game💜
