And just like that, our U9s season has finished and we have also played our last game as Mustangs as next year….

WE ARE VENTURAS!!!!

Our priority is developing our kids in a fun environment and today showed that with players playing new positions, working hard for each other with some of the best football yet with brilliant team & individual performances.

The opposition today was Weekley Rovers, Ise Lodge, Mawsley and Gretton. The coaches and players were all a credit to their clubs with all games played in great spirits. A shout out to Weekley Rovers for hosting a great tournament.

The Mustangs were in action at the Thrapston tournament this weekend and they all put so much effort.
We went out on goal difference which was a shame as we needed to win the last game by 3 clear goals.
In a 12 minute game, we went 1-0 down but then in quick succession scored 3 to put us 3-1 up.
The game finished and the kids were disappointed but as coaches and parents, we are so proud of the effort and fight they put on display.
Next up is the Ise Lodge tournament on the 5th July.

On June 15th 2025, Thrapston will be holding our annual youth football tournament for children aged between 5 and 11 years, where many local clubs from around the county will participate in this exciting day with many children participating in their first tournament.

As such I am reaching out to the local business community to ask for support with sponsoring this day.

We will have a collage banner printed with each of the company logos so all those attending will
see who has kindly supported the event, along with this being prominent in the trophy presentation area where all kids playing receive a medal with winners receiving a trophy.

Our final game of the season today was against Corby S&L.
WHAT A PERFORMANCE for all the team and although due to sickness and injuries, we only had 6 players who went toe to toe against 7 players from our opposition.

I couldn’t be prouder of the effort they all put in and it was without a doubt the most effort they have put in all season with every player playing for each other.

Isla played in goal pulling off some great saves, then in midfield for the 2nd half and worked so hard.
William was right mid and then moved to goal for the 2nd and his effort was brilliant for a player that plays defence.
Idris worked so hard in the left, tracking back and some brilliant tackles.
George was applauded from the opposition coaches and the referee for his non stop running and skills on display.
But POTM goes to two players that easily had their best games, with some great delaying and last ditch tackles covering each other.
Tyler 🏆 and Jake 🏆 with their performances of the season sees them share the trophy.

What a seasons been. I couldn’t be prouder of these kids and can’t wait for the summer tournaments and next season where we officially change our name.
We’ve played our last as the Mustangs and next season we are…..

We were back in action today and it was tough match against Gretton. We did really well moving the football in the first half, especially down the right, with Noah, Josh and George. That's what we're looking to do, more movement off the ball and making the football do the work.

We could have taken better advantage of the positions we were getting into throughout the match and probably weren't getting the ball into the box effectively enough.

George 🏆 got POTM for his effort and range of passing. Especially in the second half, dropping deeper and pinging balls around the pitch.

Our boys and girls were in action against Kettering Town Community FC today and another even game, played in great spirits from both teams.

Special mentions to Isla who was solid between the sticks, Tyler who had another top game for consecutive weeks and showing he’s listening in training, Noah with a brilliant strike and Lewis who just never gives up and works so hard every game.

Our POTM was Teddy 🏆 who is working so hard on her position as a striker but also her practice at controlling a high ball really paying off.

Today the Mustangs played Aztec Phoenix at North Park which was a really close game between 2 even sides.

Tyler was awarded POTM for a solid display at the back and taking his learnings from training and putting them into play on match day.

We only have 3 more games left before then end of the season and the last as Mustangs.
Next season the jnrs all become Venturas, aligning the whole club from the clinic to the men’s team and we can’t wait.

Our Mustangs faced off against Ise Lodge today and for the first time we have a duel POTM.
Idris 🏆 and Wills 🏆 both solid at the back, keeping a clean sheet and their best performances of the season.

All other players playing some great passing football and all working hard for each other.

As always, Ise Lodge are a brilliant opposition and the games against them are competitive and respectful. A big shout out to their coaches, players and parents.

The Mustangs were back in action today against Rising Hope Rattlesnakes.
A great game of football and very even between the two teams.
POTM went to William 🏆 this week as he played out of position on left mid, then went into goal for the second half. His effort was non stop and easily his best game of the season.
Jakey also gets a shout out for his top performance in defence and was solid at the back.

Both teams also paying their respects in a 1 minute silence in memory of Poppy Atkinson 💔.

Well done to both teams, coaches, parents and officials

Mustangs v Corby S&L today.
We started with Isla, Tyler, a debut for Oliver, Charlie, George, Lewis & Ted. William, Jake and Will starting on the bench but all getting at least half a game 👍
A tough start but becoming more even in the second half and George 🏆 picking up POTM for consecutive weeks for non stop running and playing in another position.
Other shout outs to Lewis battling on the left as always, William with some silky skills from defence and although we don’t mention goals (FA rules) a massive shoutout to Ted who may or may not have scored her first league goal of the season 😍

Today we played Rushden & Diamonds Sharks and it was a very even game between two equal sides.
Isla started in goal and played the second half in defence as she looks to play more outfield.
Tyler, Idris and William rotated in defence for the game with Frank playing midfield in the first half before going in goal for the second.
Lewis, Josh and Noah kept a brilliant shape in midfield and didn’t stop all game, setting through some lovely through balls with George 🏆 heading the attack and linking well, also picking up POTM with some brilliant finishes.

Credit to the referee today as he let play go on and managed the kids well on the pitch.

Another shout out to R&D players, coaches and parents today as they were all so respectful which saw the game played in good spirit. A credit to how kids football should be enjoyed.
