Based at Thornton Steward Reservoir, 5 miles West of Bedale, North Yorkshire, at the entrance to Wensleydale. At 35 acres, it is large enough to give good tactical racing, yet small enough to feel safe for the nervous or newcomer as all areas of the water are visible from the clubhouse. A small family club of about 120 memberships, a wide range of dinghies are sailed as well as SUP's, Canoes and k

ayaks, windsurfers. The main season runs April to October, though sailing is permitted all year during daylight hours. Access to the water is strictly controlled through membership of Thornton Steward Sailing Club only, we do not offer day tickets

If you would like to try sailing as a sport....here's your chance to experience dinghy sailing at the beautiful Thornton Steward Sailing Club.... At the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales HG4 4BQ.
There are a still few limited timed slots available on our Try Out Sailing Day on Saturday 11th April, between 10:00am-4:00pm, come and see the club, our facilities and weather permitting - take to the water with one of our instructors in a club craft. Special discounted memberships will be available on the day plus we also offer sailing courses for complete beginners upwards.
