After a challenging few weeks, the Scottish Thistle was exactly that Team H needed. Not because of the result, but because it captured everything that makes this sport so special.
An early start, friendly faces, smiles and encouragement out on route, a challenging but achievable course, stretches where horses could travel on and sections where riders needed to think, pace and manage their horse. Beautifully marked trails, stunning scenery and wildlife. Plus to be starting on board the big lad Ditto. He oozes confidence that I was lacking. Funny how horses can read us
Ditto took the win in the 120km in Ditto style.In my heart he did it he powered round for us. He know I needed him. This win was very much needed by the team H team. We have all be on this emotional journey.
For me what I'll remember most is the atmosphere. Seeing that so many people stayed up late to watch Frances and Jessica complete that magical 100 miles. To watch them gave me goosebumps.
This is true endurance. Riders supporting riders, celebrating every achievement, whether you're first home or simply crossing the finish line. Thank you Francisca Bakker for the 120km company. Ditto would have been happy to carry on with Flare.

The Scottish Thistle felt like endurance from years gone by. Real endurance. Horsemanship, partnership, challenge and community.
A huge thank you to SERC - Scottish Endurance Riding Club & Border Group & the organisers of the Scottish Thistle ride. All the many officials, volunteers and everyone who helped create such a special event. We shall be back.

As the iconic Golden Horseshoe Ride returns this weekend, Team H would like to wish every horse, rider and crew the very best of luck across Exmoor 🍀

This ride holds such special memories for us. Last year was one we will never forget, achieving Gold in the 120km during the very special 60th Anniversary ride with Ditto ❤️. It was a challenge

Ditto absolutely loves Exmoor, but after his fantastic run at Windsor, he’ll be enjoying a well-earned rest while cheering everyone on from home.

The Golden Horseshoe has been part of my endurance journey for many years. I still remember my very first attempt at the 2-day 160km back in 1992. Those early memories of the horses filling the streets of Exford, the atmosphere, the nerves, the excitement and the sheer adventure of riding across Exmoor are memories that will stay with me forever.

This ride truly unearthed my passion for endurance riding… and what a journey it has been since.

Royal Windsor… an endurance event that we have had many successes over the years, and yesterday it was Dittos return visit in the. 80km GER.
Perfect weather
Perfect going.
Perfect company.
But what truly makes these results so enjoyable isn’t just what happens out on course… it’s the people behind the scenes who make it all possible.
This time we definitely missed Robert, who was busy on his official Windsor duties, but stepping into top crew roles were owner Evelyn and Sarah… what a combination.
Evelyn brings years of endurance knowledge, experience, and calm decision making.
Sarah brings that incredible equestrian eye for detail, knowing our horses inside out and spotting the little things that matter.
As Team H, we never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. Every horse is different, every loop is different, and together we work as a team to create what’s best for that horse on that day.
It’s our crew who send us out on every loop feeling positive, prepared, and confident.
Behind every successful horse on course… there’s a pretty special team at crew point.
Team H Endurance… where every mile is a team effort.

Sometimes endurance hurts.
After the disappointment of Zuttendaal Endurance Ride and an elimination for irregular gait after 70km at vet gate 2, I’m struggling to put into words how I feel. Hugely disappointed… probably more than I’ve ever felt in this sport.
As a team, we produced Noor to his absolute best.
He's talented and produced him to a better level.
We travelled him over 3 days to give him every chance to recover and arrive feeling his best & the crew. Every detail mattered. Every decision was made with his welfare at the centre.
Out on course, as the field split into two groups… the elite, super-fast group, or the steadier group… I chose to ride conservatively. My thinking was simple—play the long game. We weren’t chasing a result, we were chasing a qualification and Noor’s first 160km. It had to be kind. It had to be right. It had to build confidence for the ultimate distance.
Over 4 years, Noor has gone from novice to this point. I feel privileged to have taken Noor to this level and with every step up, our partnership and connection has grown stronger. That’s why I love the bigger distances… it’s never been about winning. It’s about trust. Partnership. Connection.
So to be eliminated vg 2 for irregular gait… when, for once, I genuinely felt everything had come together… hurts deeply. I will always respect veterinary decisions, always… but on this rare occasion, I walked away feeling… 😓
Deflated. Empty. Maybe even a little guilty… guilty for allowing myself to feel confident that we were ready for that 160km.
But when I flip the coin… all I feel is pride.
Pride in BH Noor Jinaan.
Pride in my crew.
Pride in Team H.
Noor travelled like a king—3 different stables, lying down every night, relaxed, eating, drinking, even enjoying a quiet brunch walk once the day had settled. Then back to bed for a snooze while we grabbed a coffee. That’s Noor. That’s our sport.
Because endurance will always be about the horse.
And at Team H… it always will be. ❤️

So where do we go from here?
Do we pick ourselves up and find another 160km as soon as possible?
Do we step back and say maybe this elite level is beyond us… that as amateurs, this isn’t our place?
Or do we simply remind ourselves why we do this in the first place?
The truth is… our horses don’t care what level we compete at. They don’t know if it’s 40km, 80km, 120km or 160km. They don’t care about qualifications, titles, or finish sheets. They care that they are loved, understood, listened to, and that they come home happy.
And that’s what matters.
I’m not someone who cries often, and I never let my horses feel my emotions. Whatever I’m feeling, they deserve the same calm, the same confidence, the same partnership. They give us everything… so they should never feel our disappointment.
Whatever the result, I am always proud of my horses. Always.
So yes, right now I feel deflated… maybe for the first time in a long time. But when the emotion settles, one thing won’t change…
Team H will always do what is right for the horse.
Not for the level.
Not for the title.
Not for anyone else.
Just for the horse. ❤️

💪Building the Engine 🐎

Coming away from Kings Forest, it wasn’t just the result… it was how Noor felt.
Balanced. Athletic. Strong.
Now able to seamlessly lengthen underneath me — holding himself together with strength, trust, and time
A big part of that?
Something a little different this winter… jumping.
This video says it all — the enjoyment, the skill, the mindset.
He loved it. And it quietly built strength, coordination, and power along the way.
We’re not jumping now — the focus has shifted towards 100 miles —
but those foundations are coming through every single ride.
Now it’s about refining:
✨ Rein back → canter
✨ Leg yield
✨ Canter loops
All on a loose rein, with voice & seat.
And this is what really matters…
It’s not the winning.
It’s taking a horse from novice — when the goal feels a long way off —
and building them, step by step.
Feeling them grow with you.
Trust you.
