Thornbury Skatepark Thornbury Skatepark is tucked behind the Leisure Centre car park. A decent park with a good set of locals doing what they can to make it event better!

We need to try and get some money to get a new skate park for Thornbury! We've run Thornbury Skate Fest for a few years now and raised a bit of money with the support of Thornbury StreetSpace. Money has gone towards a rail and manual pad/ledge and we'll keep going to get new stuff in our park so it will be a nice place to skate or whatever for the next years to come - hopefully if we can do a good job even get a new skate park to last another 10 or 20 years!

The Town Council staff are planning on starting the painting of the skatepark tomorrow. Because they usually do this in the summer, they are slightly concerned about how long it will take the paint to try when it is much colder. Therefore they are just going to paint one small ramp and then see how long it takes for that to dry. They will do this tomorrow (probably in the afternoon) and then cordon it off. If it dries reasonably quickly, they will paint the rest over the next week or so. If there is a problem with it taking too long to dry it may get postponed until spring. Please spread the word and let people know to stay off the newly painted ramps so we can get a good skating surface ready for Spring. Msg me with any questions. Penny

Hey guys, quick update: planning permission is in for the skate hub, design is done and were are hoping to get the new container hub in by the end of summer.
Please put your Tesco tokens into the Krunch/Rekre8 b
ox so that can raise the rest of the funding that we need. If anyone would like to be involved in the project, please get in touch.
