***Thornbury Squash Club Christmas Squash Night***

As a valued member of the Squash Club Id love to invite you to the following evening to celebrate Xmas and a fantastic return to Squash for the club.

Wednesday 22nd Dec 21

6.20-8.00pm - Squash courts booked for a ‘club night’ style knock. Casual games, lets have some fun and try a few silly shots

8.30pm - 10.00pm - Tables are booked for an evening meal at the Thornbury Tandoori.

10.00pm - close - Drinks at the George pub next door.

We'd love to see as many faces as possible there. After such disruption to squash (and life in general) I think it would be really nice to get everybody together at the end of the year to celebrate and enjoy a relaxed evening together.

If you want to take part in just some of this but not all, that’s absolutely fine!

Cost for the courts will be just £5 per head
Cost for the rest of the night is entirely up to you!

We've been asked to spread the word on the one day team squash event taking place on 19th March 2022.

We hear there's already a good number of teams entered. It would be great if we could support and get a some teams involved from Thornbury.

If you want to take part let me know by Saturday 11th December.

Once we have names we'll match people up according to your SquashLevel.

Great news that Squash is back up and running at Thornbury Leisure Centre with full court and mixed households.

Hopefully we will be introducing the monthly boxes from June so please get it touch if you would like to get involved.

Possibly a summer league too...watch this space

Thornbury Squash Club (TSC) UPDATE:

We are really excited to hold the first Squash sessions tonight (since March).

The club have worked tirelessly with Thornbury Leisure Centre to get us back on court so we do have several T&C’s to adhere to....

The Club closed tournament is fast approaching 27/28th September. We’ve got a good entry but there are still a few club members who have not yet signed up.

The doubles league is reaching its climax and there is only one game in town. Forget Real vs Barca or England vs Wales, Sunderland (who) vs Newcastle (never heard of them), the real derby is on tonight. Yes it’s B vs A at Thornbury Leisure Centre tonight. Start is 7pm. The outcome could decide who wins the league, who is ranked No 1 doubles pair. The list goes on. Come along and watch what will be a real crunch match, you won’t be disappointed. C team don’t have a game this week, back in action next week in possible title decider.

Calling all Thornbury Club members and want-a-be squash players. The BAD squash leagues is rapidly approaching. We need to know who’s interested in playing for the teams this season so the committee can determine the number of teams we enter into the league.

Before you say “I’m not god enough”, the standards vary across the leagues and we have teams in the Prem A through to 5th Div. You will have good matches, the social aspect is great also with a meal and a pint after the match.

Good evening fellow squash players

Its that time of the year again when we should all be thinking about entering the legendary club closed tournament at Thornbury Leisure Centre.

The club is planning to hold the club closed on the weekend of 27/28 Sep 2019 with a monrad style tournament (i.e. guaranteed 4 matches if 16 players enter).

There were some good matches last year and everyone who entered had an enjoyable time.

Don't worry if you think you cannot win the overall tournament, there will be B grade competition for first round losers with trophies on offer.

For now, can you please respond with a simple yes or no to Justin Edwards if you are interested in entering the tournament. The expected cost of entry to be around £5-£6 region depending on numbers and prizes.

The more numbers we get, the better tournament it will be and as you know, upsets can happen so don't be put off.

Responses by mid-September or earlier would be really appreciated to Justin.
