Today’s training session had a little extra excitement as the kids got into the World Cup spirit! 🏆⚽ They proudly cheered on England ahead of tomorrow’s big game against Ghana, showing plenty of enthusiasm and team spirit.

It was great to see everyone having fun, supporting the Three Lions, and enjoying the buzz around the tournament. Come on, England! 🦁🤍❤️

Our players were delighted to welcome Derby County Head Goalkeeping Coach Paul Clements to training tonight.

Paul spent time working with our Mini MESSI’s and our U8s team, sharing his expertise and helping the players develop their skills in a fun and engaging session. Following training, Paul met with players from across our teams, giving them the opportunity to ask questions about his coaching journey, football, and life in the professional game.

The children asked some brilliant questions and Paul provided some fascinating and insightful answers, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to Paul for giving up his time to inspire our young players. Opportunities like this are invaluable and will no doubt leave a lasting impression on the children.

🏆 CHAMPIONS! 🏆

What a day yesterday at Redcar Town FC for our U7s, who were crowned Tournament Winners! 👏⚽

The boys well and truly deserved to lift the trophy after showing unbelievable work rate, passion, commitment and teamwork throughout the entire tournament. Every single player gave absolutely everything, and the football they produced was outstanding.

It wasn't just us who noticed either – parents, coaches and opposition managers all commented on the quality of football, attitude and sportsmanship shown by the team throughout the day. That makes us just as proud as the trophy itself.

A huge well done to every player. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. 💙⚽🏆

As for the celebrations... they carried on long into the night, Trafalgar Square style, right here on Redcar High Street while demolishing fish and chips! 😂🍟🐟

Memories that will last a lifetime. Well done, boys – thoroughly deserved! 👏🏆💙

Looking for a football team? Want to improve your skills, build confidence, and be part of a fantastic football academy?

Whether you're completely new to football or already play and want to develop your game, this is the perfect opportunity to experience our coaching environment and meet our teams.

🤩EXCITED CHILDREN AT CAMP 🤩

“WORLD CUP DAY”

Why do we do World Cup day??

At Thornaby Town Coaching, our World Cup Day is about so much more than football ⚽🌍

The children absolutely love the excitement of the draw — finding out who their teammate is and which country they’ll be representing for the day. It creates a real tournament atmosphere from the very beginning!

As part of their homework, the players are encouraged to:
🏳️ Make the flag of their country
📚 Learn facts about the nation they represent
🎨 Wear face paint and national colours

All of these efforts help earn points for their country, which are added to the overall league table throughout the day.

On the football side, the children play a large number of fast-flowing small-sided games, giving them increased repetition in:
⚽ Dribbling
⚽ Passing
⚽ Shooting
⚽ Defending

With games lasting around 6 minutes each, the players stay constantly involved, improving their fitness, decision-making and confidence while having loads of fun.

World Cup Day is always one of the highlights of the week — bringing together football, learning, teamwork and unforgettable memories ❤️🌍⚽

🤩 An amazing first day at camp today! 🤩

It was great to see so many smiling faces and plenty of Boro supporters still showing their loyalty after the Wembley defeat 😂

Our “Mini Messi” group set the tone for the day by unexpectedly breaking into Pigbag before their first activity this morning!

The day was packed with fun, energy, and plenty of football activities, including our Champions League games. With over 50 children attending, every player showed fantastic respect, a positive attitude, and brilliant enthusiasm throughout the day.

Keep an eye out for our next post, where we’ll be sharing photos along with the teams and countries for tomorrow’s exciting 2v2 World Cup Day.
