one side and lush vales on the other, Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club is one of those parkland courses that is simply a pleasure to play. It is set in a richly agricultural area and offers superb views of the Hambleton Hills to the east and Wensleydale to the west. Founded in 1914 and extended from 9 holes to its present 18 holes in 1997, Thirsk & Northallerton offers a warm welcome to members, visitors, societies and corporate parties, and offers an exciting challenge to golfers of all ages and handicaps. Our indoor Swing Studio was built in 2020 and offers the latest trackman instruction/lessons and simulation play. Situated close to both the A19 and A1, Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club is easily accessible from all directions. Not played TNGC before? Congratulations to Richard Fawcett, Kevin Parker and James Watkin who helped Thirsk and Northallerton GC finish 4th in Yorkshire Division 3 at Teesside GC today.

They had an aggregate score of +8 for their combined 36 holes. TNGC are now promoted to Division 2 which will be played in two weeks time. ⛳️⛳️⛳️⛳️⛳️

Kev Parker finished 9th Individually on the day with a level par score of 144 for his 36 holes. 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Always a favourite date in the golfing calendar is the Lady Captain’s Day which was held today in very favourable weather conditions. The format was a Stableford competition with both gents and ladies teams participating and a wonderful treat was in store for all competitors at the half way house with a fabulous spread of delicious food. Many thanks to our Lady Captain Kathryn and all her family and friends for their hard work in hosting a lovely day.

A presentation for the ladies section was held in the clubhouse at the end of the competition and congratulations go to all the winners who were as follows:

Nearest the pin on hole 3 was Denise Fawcett and nearest the pin on 2nd shot on hole 9 was Rita Thompson

Divison One : Winner Alison Elder with 34 points : Runner Up Rose Burden with 31 points
Divison Two : Winner Libby Lennox with 33 points : Runner Up Sandra Bishop with 29 points
Divison Three : Winner Cath Mills with 34 points : Runner Up Lesley Thom with 32 points
Division Four: Winner Lorna Shaw with 36 points : Runner Up Marion Willis with 35 points
Overall Winner of the day was Alison Downing

A lovely dry and sunny day albeit with a chilly wind greeted the 32 ladies teams who signed up for our first Open of the year with the format being a Texas Scramble. The course was in great condition and as always a treat was in store for the competitors at our half way house which was laden with home baked goodies, sandwiches etc supplied by the members of our ladies section. A massive thank you to all the members who organised, helped or contributed in some way to the day and to all the competitors who took part. Congratulations go to the winning teams and the results are now listed on our website and club Howdidido Ladies Results page. We look forward to welcoming teams to our next Ladies Open which is on Wednesday 5th August 2026 with the format being an Am-Am Stableford.
