This afternoon, Thirsk & Sowerby Harriers Race Directors Lorraine Hiles and Helen Ashworth proudly handed over a cheque for £1,023 to Herriot Hospice Homecare at the Lambert Hospice in Thirsk. The donation was raised from the Hooded Horse Fell Race, part of the Harriers’ Esk Valley Series, which took place in April and saw runners tackle a challenging and scenic fell route through the stunning North Yorkshire countryside. The event brought together the local running community to enjoy the hills, trails and atmosphere, while raising money for an important local cause. Herriot Hospice Homecare provides specialist palliative care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, helping patients and their families to receive compassionate care in the comfort of their own homes. The Harriers are delighted that the Hooded Horse has helped support such a valuable service within our community. 🏃♂️⛰️💚
