Well, it's fair to say that we weren't quite at the races as they say away at Bedale in the JSW League where were were soundly beaten 6 1/2 points to 1/2 a point. We dust ourselves down and go again next week. Let's hope for a more positive score in the footy tonight! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽️

A great result away at Boroughbridge who were second in the table before last nights match. Some very close matches with one loss by one shot, a draw, and two wins resulting in a 7 - 3 win on the night. Half way through the Galtres League season already! 😲

It is with some regret that our 90th Anniversary Whistle Stop “Aussie Pairs” event has been cancelled. Despite many attempts to drum up interest from dozens of surrounding clubs, it seems the appetite for another bowling date in an already over-populated calendar is not there. We had hoped to attract 24 pairs and then prepare for a big celebration day, but our best efforts have only secured 6 pairs to date. Those who have already entered will be contacted for full reimbursement.

Another good result this evening away at sunny Sessay with some close games of bowls. We managed an 8 - 2 on the night which should hopefully see us stay top of the League for now. Well done Team Sowerby. 😊

A few updates following some of this week's league matches. Also, congratulations to Stewart Williams for making it through to the JSW men's singles quarter final with a 21 - 10 win af home this afternoon. 😊

A great win at home tonight in not so great weather in the first round of the Topham Trophy 🏆. Well done Team Sowerby. We play Stillington at home in the next round/semi final.

Yet another derby match at home in the Galtres to Thirsk Athletic's Gold team this evening.... and another great result with us winning two of the rinks and taking the aggregate meaning a 6-4 win in our favour. Hope everyone has something cold in the fridge or freezer when they got home! 🥵🍦🍨 Well done Team Sowerby. 😊
