📅 Fixtures This Week at TBCC

Big week ahead at The Buxton Trust Ground with junior cricket, senior league action, a Sunday friendly, and a special representative fixture as Essex 50+ 2nd XI take on Middlesex 50+ 2nd XI.

Plenty going on across the club, so come down, support the teams, enjoy the cricket, and get behind the Bois. 🦌🏏

Tuesday: U15s v Matching Green
Wednesday: Essex 50+ 2nd XI v Middlesex 50+ 2nd XI
Thursday: U13s v Little Hallingbury
Saturday: 1st XI and 2nd XI league action v South Weald
Sunday: U11s v Harlow plus Friendly XI v Woodford Green Sun XI

Mixed fortunes on Saturday with another dominant win for the 2nd XI, while the 1st XI produced a battling performance away at Broomfield under difficult circumstances 💙

The 1st XI fell 46 runs short despite an excellent effort after being reduced to 10 men before the start and then 9 for the closing stages following an injury. The side did brilliantly to keep Broomfield to a competitive total and stay in the game. Special mention to Cossey for an outstanding 5 wicket haul, while Mills was tremendous again both behind the stumps and with the bat.

The 2nd XI meanwhile continued their strong start to the season with another dominant display against Rayleigh. A superb knock once again from Asghar laid the platform before the bowlers took control of the game.

The experienced opening partnership of Sohal and Victor set the tone brilliantly with tight spells and early pressure, with Sohal picking up 3 wickets. The Jalal and Iqbal combination then wrapped things up professionally to complete another strong all-round performance.

Plenty of positives across both sides once again. We keep building and go again next week 👏

Team news for another big weekend 🔔

The 1st XI travel to Brooklands this afternoon looking to continue their strong start to the season against a good Broomfield side, while the 2nd XI are back at The Buxton Trust Ground taking on Rayleigh.

Sunday sees the Friendly XI back in action at home as more players continue to get opportunities across the club.

Great to see strong availability and competition for places right across all sides again this weekend.

“A Newcomers Perspective” 🦌

This month’s club update comes from new signing .mulholland , reflecting on his first few months at Theydon Bois CC, from the cricket and facilities to the atmosphere around the club on and off the field.

A really positive read from someone with a huge amount of experience in the game, and great to hear his thoughts on the direction the club is moving in.

“From all the early signs, it seems that the sleeping giant may be awakening.”

A terrific start to the season so far, with plenty more hard work ahead 🚀

County cricket returns next week ❤️

We’re delighted to be hosting the Essex 50+ 2nd XI County Championship fixture against Middlesex in the first county game back at the club this season 🦌

A brilliant day yesterday with two strong wins and over 800 runs scored across the club 🚀

The 1st XI produced an outstanding performance away at Brookweald, posting a huge total before backing it up with a disciplined effort in the field and with the ball. A superb partnership of 298 between Reese and Nel laid the platform before the bowlers finished the job professionally. Special mention as well to Petchey, superb again with the ball picking up crucial top order wickets, alongside the ever reliable O’Grady.

The 2nd XI also continued their strong start to the season with a dominant home win over Tillingham. A brilliant century from Asghar and an excellent contribution from Trevett set the tone before the experienced left and right arm combination of Victor and Sohal picked up 7 wickets between them to help wrap things up professionally.

A really strong day for the club with contributions coming from right across both sides.

Tough tests for both teams next week. Keep building 🦌

Two strong XIs ready to go again this Saturday after a great start to the league season.

The 1st XI travel to Brookweald looking to build on last week’s win, while the 2nd XI return to The Buxton Trust Ground hoping to make it two from two.

Great to see strong availability and good competition for places across the club with a really positive mix of experience and younger players coming through.
