Both throwers competed at the Norfolk Schools Championships, held at the UEA on Saturday.

As this was a schools event, Leon was required to compete with the 5kg hammer, as the Schools Athletics Association has not yet adopted the new UK Athletics age-group implement weights, with these changes due to come into effect next year.

Both athletes produced strong performances in the hammer. Tom secured gold with a winning throw of 47.29m using the 6kg hammer, while Leon claimed victory in the 5kg hammer with an impressive throw of 49.22m.

Their performances earned both athletes selection to represent Norfolk at next weekโ€™s Anglian Schools Championships.

Leonโ€™s winning throw not only secured his first-ever Norfolk Schools vest but also achieved the qualifying standard for the English Schools Championships.

To complete an excellent day, Leon also won gold in the 5kg shot put, recording a winning distance of 10.53m.

๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰ Challenge Acceptedโ€ฆ and Crushed! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

One of the things we love most about our club is how our members are always inspiring each other to set new goals, push their limits, and cheer one another on every step of the way.
This week, Corinne West set herself the challenge of rediscovering her running mojo with a target of 50km over the week. James McKellar decided to raise the bar and take on an incredible 100km in seven days.

And did they deliver! ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Corinne smashed her target, finishing the week with an impressive 55km.

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ James decided that 100km just wasnโ€™t quite enough and went on to cover more than three marathonsโ€™ worth of running over the week!

Both were fully committed to their challenges, enjoying runs with friends, taking part in the club time trial, and even fitting in races along the way. Their dedication, determination, and enthusiasm have been fantastic to see and are a great example of what makes our club so special.

๐Ÿ‘ Huge congratulations to Corinne and James on their amazing achievements. Weโ€™re proud of you both and look forward to seeing what challenge comes next! ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰ What a fantastic week itโ€™s been for our club members! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Weโ€™ve certainly been keeping busy and flying the club colours with pride!

๐Ÿ”น Monday kicked off with our monthly Club Time Trial, with a fantastic turnout and plenty of great performances. It was brilliant to see so many members taking part and smashing out some excellent times! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ”น Friday night saw 5 of our members head to Sandringham Estate for a challenging Trail 10K. A tough course (well, in my opinion anyway! ๐Ÿคฃ), but everyone put in a superb effort.

๐Ÿ”น Also on Friday, we had an incredible 15 members taking on the Lotus Track 5K, showing once again the amazing support and enthusiasm within the club. ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ”น Saturday belonged to our juniors, with Erica Hollick-Pearce and Rex Stubbins competing in Quad Kids. A huge well done to both, and special congratulations to Rex, who achieved PBs in all four events! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ”น Sunday rounded off the week with 10 club members tackling another demanding trail event at the Lowestoft 10K. An extra special mention goes to the four members who had already raced on Friday night and were back at it again just two days later โ€“ outstanding commitment and determination! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”ฅ

A massive congratulations to everyone who represented the club this week. Whether you were racing, chasing PBs, or simply enjoying the challenge, you should all be proud of your achievements.

Thanks to Carri Vendy who attended 2 of the events and took some amazing photos

What a fantastic evening for our third Summer Time Trial of the year!

Held monthly throughout the summer, these events are a real highlight of the club calendar, bringing together our junior and senior members for an evening of friendly competition, encouragement and plenty of smiles.

Using a handicap format means everyone has the chance to finish together, regardless of pace or experience. Itโ€™s one of the things that makes these evenings so special, with a real buzz around the club from the first runner setting off to the final sprint for the line.

It was particularly great to see so many of our junior athletes taking part and producing some outstanding performances. The future of TAC is certainly looking bright! โญ

๐Ÿ‘ A huge well done to everyone who took part:

๐Ÿ… SEAA Silver Medal for Tom Norkett at the South of England Championships ๐Ÿ…

Tom Norkett travelled to Bedford International Athletics Stadium on Saturday to compete in the South of England Athletics Association (SEAA) Track and Field Championships.

This yearโ€™s championships have been split across two venues during the month, with the Under-20 and Senior competitions taking place in Bedford, while the Under-18 events are being hosted at Chelmsford Athletics Stadium.

After a particularly challenging journey, Tom arrived just in time for the call room, leaving no opportunity to complete his usual warm-up routine. Despite the difficult start to the day, he went straight into the six-round hammer competition.

Competing in the Under-20 Menโ€™s Hammer Throw, Tom produced a best throw of 46.20 metres with the 6kg hammer. His performance secured second place and earned him an SEAA silver medal. ๐Ÿฅˆ

June promises to be a busy month for the throwers, with competitions scheduled every week through to the end of the month.

Congratulations, Tom, on a fantastic achievement!

๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ What a BUSY and brilliant week for our TAC club members! Another fantastic week of racing, endurance and adventure! ๐Ÿ‘

We kicked things off on Wednesday evening with Lewis Bryant taking on the Bungay 10km in some very wet and windy conditions. ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ

Friday saw Lewis back in action alongside Peter Elliot, Richard Crewe, Kayleigh Crewe and Lacie Bailey at the Aylsham 5km. A special mention to Lacie, who was running her first race as a TAC club member โ€“ welcome to the team and well done! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’™

Further afield, Jason and Richard Beeton headed to Sussex to tackle the Rye 10km. ๐Ÿ‘

Sunday brought more success at the Humpty Dumpty 10km, where Jason Wing, Gary Miliband and Nicky Ginger flew the TAC flag. Huge congratulations to Jason, who once again finished 2nd in his age category โ€“ amazing consistency, Jason! ๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Two of our members took on the epic challenge of the Suffolk Backyard Ultra. Unfortunately, Lisa Stone had to make the difficult decision to stop after two laps due to injury โ€“ we wish you a speedy recovery, Lisa. โค๏ธ Meanwhile, Graham dug deep and completed an incredible 29.16 miles. Outstanding effort! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ…

And proving that TAC members are talented in more ways than one, Carri Vendy, Corrina Turner, Kate Measures and Suzanne Fleet completed the 6km Bewl Water SwimRun Experience. Fantastic achievement, ladies! ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

๐Ÿ‘ Congratulations to everyone who raced, challenged themselves and represented the club this week. You continue to show what an amazing, supportive and multi-talented club we are!

๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Rain? What rain?! 32 club members braved the elements this morning and represented us at parkruns across SIX different locations!

๐Ÿฅˆ At Brandon, Jason Wing stormed to 2nd place, while over at Mildenhall, Spencer Morgan also claimed an impressive 2nd place finish.

We also had members flying the club colours at Bury St Edmunds, Hastings and Dereham.

๐Ÿ  Back at our home parkrun in Thetford, Lacie Bailey produced a fantastic run, recording her fastest parkrun of the year with a brilliant 29:10! ๐Ÿ‘

โœˆ๏ธ And proving that parkrun tourism knows no limits, Cherie Rui Miller showed true dedication by setting off at 6am and driving from Spain to Gibraltar to tackle the hilly Botanical Gardens parkrun.

A fantastic effort and a great example of perseverance.

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ Culford Triathlon
