This morning we enjoyed the company of 20 members of the Run with HeR Thetford group, who did a cracking volunteer takeover. A few weeks ago we were joined by stalwarts from Tiger Fitness and, in a couple of weeks’ time, volunteers from the Thetford Athletic Club will be looking after our participants.
Would you/your group be interested in taking part in a Thetford parkrun volunteer takeover? We’ve not heard from, for example, any of Thetford’s footballers, rugby players, martial artists or fitness clubs. No experience needed, and a useful takeover can be achieved with half a dozen or so volunteers. What are you waiting for..? Email [email protected] if you’d like to get involved.🤩

This week 280 participants took part in our event, plus 45 volunteers including Pacers, and members of Run with HeR Thetford who virtually took over the entire event!😀

We welcomed 41 first timers (see photo), including tourists from Diss, Kenilworth, Preston, Walthamstow, Wymondham, Holbeach, Stowmarket, Thurrock, Clacton, and Elgin, Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (long distance winner!).🏆

We also celebrated birthdays with Sue Morgan, Jimmy Gooderham, and Graham Thomas (thank you to Sharon and Graham for the cakes).🧁

Congratulations to 42 of our participants who achieved new PBs, and to everyone for coming along and joining in with the fun.😎

The event was made possible by our wonderful volunteers. We need help next Saturday so please let us know if you’d like to join us (we supply very fetching pink hi vis!).

As well as being Pacer Day, tomorrow also sees a volunteer takeover by the ladies of Run with HeR Thetford .
As the nights are drawing in some runners, especially females, are fearful of heading out alone in the evenings. This group could be the answer! And they don’t just run in the evenings, so check out their page for more info.
Would you/your group like to do a Thetford parkrun volunteer takeover one Saturday morning? Tiger Fitness have already done it, and Thetford Athletic Club are joining us on the 19th. Any more takers?

We have a lovely full roster for Saturday’s parkrun, thanks to a generous influx of volunteers from Thetford’s Run with HeR group. Yes, it’s another volunteer takeover!!!😀😀😀
