Quali done,didn’t manage to get a clear lap in,But overall car felt good.
P6 overall P2 in Classic VW Cup & P3 in the DMC.
Hope weather holds up as forecast rain later on.
Race 1 is at 12:20.
Race 2 16:25.

OULTON PARK 2. 3/7/21.
Race report,
QUALI , Very wet start to the day,we would only get around 8 laps in So we set the tyre pressures & decided to stay out for the duration,car felt pretty good,didn’t push 100% just keeping it on the black stuff,was very surprised when I came in to find I had been P1 only to be pipped on the last lap by fellow CVWC competitors Tony in his mega Golf mk2 R32,So was pleased with P2 & front row start for race 1.
RACE 1, Well didn’t go to plan..Big shame the timetable had been amended & brought forward an hour without anybody telling us😏
We were called to the grid with 15 min to go,car was still in wet setup with track surface mostly dry.had no time to change to dry tyres,So had to do best with what I had!!
Got of the start line good & to the lead,but knowing I wouldn’t stay there long defending I waved Tony by & tried to keep up with him until my tires gave away,locked up into hislops & couple of Clios went passed,then I saw Tonys Golf R32 stranded at inside of cascades,So tried to keep it on the black stuff & came over the finish line P1 in Class & P3 Overall.🏁🏆
RACE 2. The Sun 🌞 made an appearance,dry setup sorted,lining up in row two..made a decent start & made up a place to second,then lap two made my pass for the lead at lakeside was comfortable leading the pack for few laps until I missed my braking point going into hislops chicane locked up went to deep onto the grass & lost the lead😔 with couple of laps to go it started to rain and I was closing in on the leader, back markers got a bit in the way up clay hill & druids,So missed my opportunity to challenge for the lead…came over the finish line in P1 in Class & P2 Overall!😬🏁🏆

Was great to be out racing again,first time out racing at Oulton Park with Track Attack Race Club & Classic VW Cup in a Massive 37 car grid.
Qualifying came in P4 in Class & P10 overall,
Race 1 went pretty well only for brake issues with long pedal causing a couple of scary moment & a over shoot at the chicane resulting in loosing a couple of places but came over the finish line 3rd in class & P9 overall.
Race 2 was a bit of a nightmare the traction control decided to work all of a sudden & caused major issues with loss of power with TC coming on every corner 😩 But kept it on the black stuff to finish 3rd in class & P11 overall....
Felt a bit deflated at the end of the day to come away with nothing to show for it after finishing on the podium twice ..All the hard work/effort & money spent to not come a away with silverware 🏆 was bit disappointing!😏
But overall it was a good day racing,learnt a lot abt the track & the new MRF Tyres I was trying out for first time.😬🚗💨🏁🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Race report Brands Hatch GP!
After a very wet Quali on Saturday the sun 🌞 was out for Sunday Race day.Starting in P9 on grid got off to a good start made a place or two up was having a good battle with Chris Adams for majority of race until engine Temp started to go very High resulting in drop hp,So dropped back a couple of places managed to come over the finish line in P10 overall & 2nd in Class to carry on my Podium run to 7 on the trot!!!😬
Was really Lucky to finish as when I entered the pits the Dsg gearbox went to limp mode stuck in 2nd gear..crawled to the paddock,We made a few changes to the set up while Dilwyn tried his best to reset the Mechatronics etc but to no avail ..So regrettably we didn’t make it to the starting line for race 2 gutted!!😔
But overall was a great weekend racing,one I will cherish for being able to race on the legendary (X. F1)GP layout!!!!

Such a sad day for motorsport,glad I was blessed to have grown up watching F1 & listening to this true legend. R.I.P Murray😞🚗💨

We are saddened to hear that Murray Walker has passed away at the age of 97.

From the beginning of his journey, commentating at Shelsley Walsh to becoming the voice of Formula 1 and so many other motorsport disciplines, Murray inspired and entertained generations of motorsport fans.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends, he will be deeply missed by everyone at Motorsport UK.
