Alison is 61. She had not enjoyed organised exercise before, despite being an active person.
When she first walked into the gym, it was, in her own words, with some trepidation.
She had poor balance, low stamina, and limited core strength. She worried she would fail. She had never found a way to make exercise stick.
She came because she wanted to be strong and active as she approached retirement. A quiet but powerful reason.
In a few months, everything shifted.
She has lost a stone in weight. Her balance has vastly improved. Her core strength has vastly improved. She feels more energetic. She feels so much better.
This is what she wrote about her experience:
"As a mature woman it was with some trepidation that I entered the gym for the first time. However, Zuza has been amazing. Kind, calm and competent she has gradually led me through the last few months and now I have lost a stone in weight, my balance and core strength have vastly improved, I feel so much better and more energetic. Highly recommend Zuza for any age or fitness background."
And from her feedback:
"Scary at first but you are so kind and patient I soon began to enjoy our sessions."
Now Alison is looking forward. She says she is prepared to have lots of adventures as they retire.
That is what this is really about. Not just the weight, not just the balance. It is about what opens up when you stop being afraid of your own body.
If you are approaching a new chapter in life and you want to feel strong enough to enjoy it, please reach out. I would love to hear where you are and talk about what might be possible for you.
