🎾 Thaxted Tennis Club – Finals Day 🎾
Sunday 14th September
The biggest day of the TTC calendar is here — Finals Day! Expect some sizzling tennis, questionable line calls, and plenty of fun off court too.
🕤 Arrive: 9:30am (time to hit a few balls before pretending you’ve been practising all year)
🎾 First match: 10:00am sharp-ish
🍔 BBQ courtesy of TTC (we promise not to burn all the sausages)
🥗 Bring a dish to share (your secret recipes are safe with us)
🍾 BYOB (hydration in all its forms)
☀️ Sunshine has been officially booked (no refunds if the weather department messes up).
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family and friends very welcome — the louder the cheering, the better.

This high-energy programme runs for 12 weeks, starting Tuesday 2nd Sept; MEMBERS ONLY!
🗓️ Tuesdays, 7:30–8:30pm
📍 Thaxted Tennis Club
❌ No session on 28th Oct (half-term)
✅ Open to ages 14+
💪 Commit to 6 weeks at a time
💷 = £51 for 6 weeks (£8.50 per session) – paid upfront

Thaxted tennis club ran a charity fundraising tournament for ‘Breast Cancer Now!’ and the club in which 19 ladies from local tennis clubs took part. The tournament comprised of 7 rounds of tennis with varying partners in a 5-game format. This provided the opportunity to play with people they knew as well as making new friends. The sun shone and there was much chat and laughter in between games and a buffet lunch. The event raised £375, for which Thaxted Tennis Club thanked their guests.

🎾 Sun, Serves & Sizzle at Thaxted Tennis Club! ☀️🍔
Thaxted Tennis Club served up a smashing day of fun on 28th June 2025 at our annual Pitch Up and Play event — and what a day it was! An impressive 38 members and their families came along, clearly lured by the promise of sunshine, sizzling sausages, and some cheeky backhands.
From 11am to 6pm, the courts were alive with the sound of tennis balls and laughter, as everyone enjoyed good food, cold drinks, and top-notch company. Huge thanks to the club committee for putting on a brilliant BBQ and bar — rumour has it, a few burgers were consumed purely for “fuel.”
The legendary Lobster ball machine was also put through its paces — firing balls with more enthusiasm than a Labrador at a tennis ball factory. It gave members of all ages a chance to show off their skills (and, in some cases, their dodging abilities!).
A special shout-out to our brave coach, Callum, who valiantly took on all-comers in a thrilling “Challenge Coach Callum” session. It’s safe to say he broke more of a sweat than anyone else and may still be recovering from that one fierce forehand by a 12-year-old with something to prove...
A huge thank you to everyone who came along — here's to more sunny days, ace rallies, and maybe just one more burger next time. 🎉🎾🍹
