MUMS AND DADS AND DANGER…

Our first job as parents is to protect and provide for our little ones. We want to keep them safe but we can’t actually wrap them in cotton wool.

One of us is ultra safe, flawlessly keeping Albie safe and sound. The other walks a line much closer to the edge. Figuring Albie needs to know where the edge is to be safe.

We can disagree at times, but I think it’s a pretty great balance at the end of the day.

Where do you fall on the risk scale and do you always agree with each other?

RUNNING INTO THE NEW YEAR WITH A WINNING MINDSET

Here’s wishing everyone a happy new year and all the health and happiness in the world for 2022.

I have big plans for the year ahead personally and professionally. We too often get bogged down by lofty, complicated ambitions. My winning mindset going forward is one we all know but rarely use.
•
I’m going back to basics. In everything. Stripping back the faff and frills and getting sh@t done.

FIND A GOOD TRAINING PARTNER and don’t let them go!
•
There’s nothing like running with a good partner to raise the bar. Just smashed out a tough 60min run with wifey for one of the hardest sessions of the year.
•
We ran 7km - first 3km uphill, moderate pace together. Megan then turned for home as I “sprinted” the 500m to the peak of the Deri then turned in pursuit. Who would make it home first…!?!?

One of my greatest joys is food! This time of year we go nuts for the feast and I think there’s no better feeling than being full on famished when you sit down to eat.

That’s one of my great motivators for getting outside and clocking up the mountain miles.

Whatever your motivation, keep it positive. Enjoy your time off, the feasting and your active time.
•

A BOYHOOD DREAM COMPLETED!

From the moment I read about the men of the SAS and the significance of Pen Y Fan (“Pen Y Van”) I have wanted to bag this summit.
•
It took me a while to get here, but I’ve finally done it.
•
It’s not really completed though, a mountain never is as it’s different on every day and with every season. I can’t wait to come back and do it time and again. From different angles and in different conditions.
•
My sand coloured beret must have been delayed in post…
•
