Designed for Farmers, Riders and Outdoor Workers, it combined Barbour’s traditional waxed cotton craftsmanship with practical stockman style features suited to harsh rural conditions..

Today, Backhouse jackets are highly sought after due to their limited production, regional distribution and decades of hard use in the countryside..

With the “Backhouse” name long since discontinued, surviving examples (like this one above) have become increasingly scarce, making them a unique and collectible part of Barbour’s heritage..
