Well done to everyone who came down for the session and we appreciate those who popped in, or left us messages throughout the day.

Welcome To The Team...

We're really pleased to announce Adam will be heading up our Run Club.

We're no strangers to the benefits of running at Powerhouse but Adam is on another level, although very humble and here to support you.

He's kindly offered his time to help us over the last couple of months and we're delighted to make it more official.

Already a qualified Run Leader - Leaning into his passion he's also currently studying;

-Level 5 diploma in Soft tissue therapy
-USECA ultra marathon coaching certification
-Coach in Running Fitness.

Run club is a FREE offering completely unrelated to the membership and open to non members.

Tuesday 5:50am Meet -6am start
Thursday 6:20 Meet - 6:30pm start.

Although unfortunately this means on rare occasions, we'll need to cancel as it's a lower priority compared to SGPT.

For accountability and to gauge demand, we ask members book/cancel as usual. Even though credits aren't needed.

Please give Adam a big Powerhouse welcome.

The Key To Training Consistency...

Finding something you enjoy doing.

A space you feel comfortable in.

With a crowd you enjoy being around.

Thats exactly what we try to provide at Powerhouse

Most people joining recently, proudly declare that they're not typical gym people. (Thats ok with us)

After a few weeks and months they begin to realise they were just in the wrong gym.

Once you've found the right gym for you, it's much easier to remain consistent.

So before you right yourself off again with negative thinking, maybe it's time to try The Powerhouse Method?

Are you Hyrox ready?

From 11th March we’ll be running an 8 week Hyrox programme and this will be open to a limited number of non members.

Perfect if you want to join us in the build up to Hyrox London - or any other Hyrox event for that matter

What you’ll get?

Access to a purpose built facility, official affiliate gym and Hyrox coaches with bags of event experience.

2 Team Training Sessions per week with all the specific stations you’ll come across at Hyrox

With the flexibility to choose the sessions that suit you best!

At least 2 Team Runs with our coaches and members.

Entry to our upcoming Hyrox Form and Strategy Workshop + PFT and Full Event simulations

A chance to build strength and confidence on Sleds and practice your wall balls to the event specific standards.

Help, support, guidance and accountability within a private community group specific to Hyrox.

We’ll even help you out with Sets and reps strength training if you train somewhere else away from Powerhouse

We've chosen to host this at so we're less worried about any cold weather, hopefully the Thame crew don't mind a commute.

4 Months of Powerhouse

Lots of people proudly declare they’re not typical gym people but thats only because they’ve not found the right gym for them.

Over the last 4 months Lawney has massively grown in confidence inside and outside the gym and it’s been great to witness her progress.

Not your typical gym experience!

Gym's are more popular than ever now but finding the right one for you isn't easy.

We're a coaching led facility, which means there's no free gym access, no egos or queues.

All our sessions are programmed months/weeks in advance and coach led which means somebody is there to support, motivate and challenge you throughout your session.

We go way above and beyond on inductions and provide support throughout your time with us.

Community is behind everything we do and that welcoming and supportive atmosphere usually means you'll actually enjoy coming to the gym.

We've got a whole team of passionate and knowledgeable coaches to guide you towards your own personal goals.

In a truly unique setting with lots of natural day light, sunsets and sunrises and views of your local Rugby Club -
Chinnor RFC.

There's a new sheriff In town...

We'd like to give a big Powerhouse welcome to Oli.

Currently plying his trade for Chinnor RFC Thame and he's no stranger to us at Powerhouse either.

Bringing a vast amount of experience to the team as a Rugby player and Coach, having owned his own gym before deciding to go travelling around Australia he'll prove to be an asset to the coaching team.

Already proving to be popular amongst the members, you can catch him on a Monday evening and Thursday morning.

We look forward to having him around.

Restriction Season

Everybody is so hyper focused on restriction right now

Whether thats dry January, giving up chocolate or counting calories but whilst that can help January is also a good time to ADD something….

ADD a portion of Greens and a sprinkle of colour to your meals - most of us are so focused on the “meat and potatoes” of a meal we often end up with a beige plate and not much nutritional variety and it very easy to over consume more pasta or rice.

ADD a 20-30 min walk into your daily schedule, when life allows. - Theres a huge amount of people trying to diet themselves into oblivion right now, when they should spend more time improving their energy output and trying to move more through out the day. Check your average step count and try to add 2-3k every day, especially if its under 4k.

Don’t be shy to crank up the average with a big weekend walk for the win!

ADD Protein to every meal - we know so many new faces struggle with this initially but protein is completely essential, regulating appetite and promoting recovery which is crucial for anyone but especially if you’re currently training hard and trying to lose fat.

3 simple but practical tips that will help move you forward.

2023 Highlights....

What a year it's been!

Our first full year in the new gym and there's been lots of growth and challenge during that time period.

The team has grown as new members have joined us.

Walking has been a huge theme ever since our January walking challenge, preparing us for our 3 peaks challenge with the members.

Then doing it again minus the members and the minibus, camping along the 500 mile journey raising just under £24k for GIST Cancer UK

That wasn't the only fundraising we did in 2023 as we also completed 24 Hours of Hyrox at pro weights back in March.
Raising £5k for Red Kite Family Centre

We've ran multiple Hyrox Workshops and Full Simulations to prepare ourselves and our members for the real thing.

We became Hyrox Affiliated and some of our coaches became official HYROX UK coaches.

The Winter Games proved to be a big hit and our Christmas Bootcamps and parties are always big dates in the diary.

We launched Strength Testing.

Lastly we've took on an exciting opportunity (and challenge) as we look to expand Powerhouse in 2024.

Huge thanks to all the coaching team, members, friendly faces and those close to us for coming along for the ride.
