✨ Guest Yoga Teacher This Saturday ✨

We are lucky enough to have a special guest teacher joining us this Saturday at 10:00am.

Rachel, a friend of Hannah from Alchemy Yoga, trained at House of Om in Bali in 2025 and teaches a multidisciplinary style of yoga including both Hatha and Vinyasa.

A long-time yoga practitioner herself, Rachel originally found yoga as a way to complement her weight training. She quickly fell in love with the different kind of strength yoga develops — connecting the mind to every inch of the body. Her classes are dynamic, fun and focused on building strength, balance and confidence.

To be honest, we think that’s a perfect fit for our TAF members.

There are currently just 6 spaces left in Saturday’s 10:00am class, so if you’ve been thinking about trying yoga, this is your sign.

STRENGTH TRAINING ISN’T A GIMMICK.

Somewhere along the way, “strength training” became a buzzword.

A few light dumbbells.
A mat.
A sweaty 30-minute workout.

And whilst those sessions absolutely have their place, especially for home workouts or when time is tight, let’s not confuse them with actually building strength.

At Target Active Fitness, we believe training should have intention.

If the goal is strength, then the equipment, programming and coaching should reflect that goal.

Strength isn’t built through random exercises thrown together to make you sweat.

It’s built through progressive overload.
It’s built through learning movement patterns.
It’s built through consistency.
It’s built through lifting a little more, moving a little better, and becoming a little stronger week after week.

That’s why you’ll find squat racks, barbells, cable machines, kettlebells, dumbbells and conditioning equipment in our classes.

Because if we’re asking you to get stronger, we should provide the tools to make that happen.

No gimmicks.
No magic shortcuts.
No endless “arms and abs” classes pretending to be strength training.

Just purposeful training, delivered by coaches who understand the process.

Because strength takes time.

And anything worth building deserves to be respected.

WHY LIFTING WEIGHTS WON’T MAKE YOU BULKY

One of the biggest myths we still hear from women is:

“I don’t want to lift weights because I don’t want to get bulky.”

The reality?

For most women, lifting weights doesn’t create a bulky physique. It creates a stronger, leaner, healthier body.

✅ More muscle tone
✅ Increased strength
✅ Better posture and balance
✅ Stronger bones and joints
✅ Higher metabolism
✅ More confidence

Building significant muscle mass takes years of dedicated training, a calorie surplus, and often genetics that favour muscle growth.
