Announcement.
Firstly apologies for the long post, but here goes.
It is with a heavy heart, I have to announce the immediate closure of Tewkesbury Darts Academy.
Personal circumstances mean it is getting extremely hard to offer my full commitment to the academy, as we are forced to cancel more and more sessions.
I feel it is not fair on the students if I cannot give it my 100% focus.
I have tried numerous different ways to keep it going but all to no avail.
I feel like I have done what I set out to do and that was to create a new younger generation of darts players in our local area.
Over the past 8 years we have made some great memories together and I feel extremely proud of what has been achieved.
From, going to Gibraltar for the first JDC Virtual World Champs and supporting Oli in his junior efforts out there.
We have seen a number of our students progress into local Super League teams and some have even represented Gloucestershire on the County stage.
Seeing the groups of friendships that have been created playing together on The JDC Foundation Tour and playing in local ADC Vaults.
And nothing more than seeing the look on a young persons face when they hit their first 180 or manage to beat me for the first time (it definitely wont be the last time either) which to be fair isn't that hard haha.
I would also like to place on record some thanks for help and guidance over the last 8 years (apologies if I miss anyone):
🎯All the team at the JDC - Darren, Steve, Robbie, Jamie, Josh and all the others for the continued support.
🎯The team at Winmau for always providing us with top quality equipment for the academy.
🎯Tammy, Mike, Jon and more recently Denby for helping me when it started to get really busy (and any other parents who have helped along the way).
🎯Big shout to Debbie and Dennis who allowed us the use of DD's at no cost every week, even if it meant them having to get there early each week to open up for us.
🎯Thank you to all the companies/people that have sponsored us or our events.
🎯And finally thank you to all our students past and current for being an absolute pleasure to be around you did yourselves and your parents proud.
NO invoices will be due this month, for the few sessions we have ran I will cover these.
FINALLY, good luck to all the young players that have come through the Academy, I am sure we will cross paths quite regularly at local events.
