Bragging rights AND extra strawberries 🍓 🍓🍓for everyone who cycled today despite the dire forecast- with extra kudos for the member who came despite having no running water at home for a post-ride shower: luckily he managed to achieve that during the final few miles of the ride ☔️☔️☔️

Pleasant temperatures mean pleasant rides! Three groups- ‘local lanes to Hole Park Gardens, Rolvenden’ , a circuitous route to Eggs to Apples Farm Shop, or ‘Back-in-time-for-lunch’ to Headcorn Village. Lovely way to spend a sunny morning 🙂

‘Whew, what a scorcher’ as the tabloids would say!! It had to be the seaside today - Dungeness Snack Shack for refuelling and then a quick sprint home across the marsh with a light tailwind - what’s not to like 👌🌞🚴‍♀️

Another day of choices: the majority chose a longish (49 miles) but flat ride to the newly-refurbished Paddock Wood Garden Centre cafe, some opted for a shorter ride to The Cockerel in Peasmarsh and a few chose hills and coffee at Brookside Garden Centre at East Peckham (no photo of those riders by special request: you’ll have to wait for the Xmas video for that gem 😉🤣)

Several options today to suit different preferences and energy levels:
1. Very Long and Very Hilly to Tottingworth Farm.
2. A bit Shorter and Fewer Hills to Tibbs Farm.
3. Back in time for a Lunchtime Beer, and, finally
4. Easier Paced Social to Staplehurst Nurseries and Frankie's Farmshop.
Despite the different routes, everyone enjoyed dry conditions, good company, and another enjoyable Sunday morning on the bike.

My brave daughter Joanne looking terrified on a Penny Farthing on the Mall today! She has more guts than her Dad!

Rain? What rain?? Having modified our planned route due to an appalling forecast, most of today’s ride was in glorious sunshine 🌞- with a precision-timed heavy downpour whilst we were safely ensconced in our coffee stop 👍👌🙂

No rain this morning, despite the earlier forecast, though the headwind on the way out was absolutely savage. Route planning may have wandered off-script at times, but impressively nobody got lost! (Not for long, anyhow 😂). Special mention to one unlucky couple managing simultaneous punctures, taking ‘togetherness’ to a whole new level 💕🤣. Nice to bump into Rye & District Wheelers at coffee before flying home on a glorious tailwind. 🚴💨 💨💨

So - buoyed up by our fab sunny Cotswolds tour, we all donned our summer kit for what turned out to be a somewhat chilly- not to mention hilly - ride, whilst another group chose the sensible and non-hilly ride to Ashford. Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway cafe coped admirably with us turning up mob-handed though 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
