One of the 1066 Archery Club, Level 2 Development Coaches, Christine Nichols, has just written a book titled "Tuning the Archer, The Exercise Manual for Coaches and Archers" which is available on Amazon. As the title suggests, is all about archery specific exercises to improve your technique, strength and consistency and thus your accuracy and scores. It explores different aspects of exercise and what they are for, information on the shoulder and back and specific exercises for the shoulder, which are so important for archers. The book includes information on breathing, shot process, bow and string hands, exercises on the various aspects of the shot and progresses from hands to bands to light bow to your usual bow with explanations and illustrations for each drill and exercise. It is useful for both Coaches and Archers.
In her foreword, Naomi Folkard writes "Within these pages lies a practical system: warm-ups, prehab and rehab exercises, physical conditioning, and archery-specific drills and bow training—all tailored to the sport’s unique physical demands. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned competitor pursuing longevity and refinement, this book offers thoughtful, effective tools that are grounded in experience"
