⛳ Ladies Open Day ⛳
The recent Tenby Ladies Open Day on Thursday 27 August was a wonderful success despite an early forecast of rain, which cleared by mid-morning to reveal a beautifully warm day. The event saw strong participation from local clubs as well as visitors from Germany, Berkshire, Herefordshire, Sherringham, and Perranporth, among others.
The Ladies Section provided exceptional support with ball spotting and with the halfway house offering its usual delightful refreshments which was a lovely treat for everyone. Vice Captain Louise was commended for her full support, alongside the Pro Shop team members and Beth, Linda, and Irene, who efficiently managed competition setup, scorecards, and smooth closing procedures.
Special thanks were extended to Vice President Mel Smith and Heather Bucket for their excellent management of the raffle. The greenkeepers were praised for maintaining the course in fantastic condition despite the challenging hot weather.
Starters Gethin and Brian kept the tees running smoothly and spirits high with their friendly interactions, while course marshalls and ball spotters, including Derek Cole, Adrian Palmer, Martin Spurin Wyndham, and Chris Hughes ensured the event flowed seamlessly.
Wyndham and Ann, the Open Day specialists, were recognized for their invaluable assistance throughout the day. Additional gratitude was expressed to the office staff, the 19th hole team, and the catering staff for their hard work and attentiveness.
The event successfully raised £667 from the raffle for the Alzheimer's Society, with special thanks also given to Gravells Kia cars of Narberth and the 4 ball vouchers from various golf clubs for their sponsorship and support.
Overall, the Open Day was an amazing occasion, and heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved. We look forward to welcoming all participants back next year.
