The Snake 🐍 Factory: Part 3
Step 1: Wet the finished , varnished snake lightly to smooth the fur out and dry.
Step 2: Quick blow dry…😂
Step 3: Nip off the front hook point (u can do this in a bag to stop em flying everywhere
And we’re done…Snakes take a LOT of prep and work compared to other flies if you want to make them well.
These are off to search the depths of Rutland and Grafham for big browns so let’s hope they bring our customer some tight lines. 👍
Special mention to Andy Lidstone at Barney's Trout Flies for supplying a fantastic olive chinchilla zonker pelt..🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇

The Snake Factory Part 2 (contd from the other day)
Step 2: Attach the rabbit zonker to the rear of the back hook and add a dubbing noodle for the back body..
Step 3: The trickiest bit…with the zonker held back using a clip and magnet, double whip finish on the back hook eye whilst not tangling in the braid.
Step 4: Front hook, dumb bell eyes whipped and glued on, whip on your flash.
Step 5: Thread the braid up the shank, through the eye and back again and whip n glue.
Step 6: Attach the zonker again at the rear, add a dubbing noodle and tie off at the front. Quick whip finish before adding a dubbing noodle of synthetic Siman dubbing before again another whip finish. (This fly ain’t gonna fall apart like some do)
The FINAL part?……..to be continued
