In Division 1, the match between Ballpoint B and Maddocks B was postponed, leaving both teams without any changes to their standings. Anstice B delivered an impressive 4-1 win over Bayley B, with standout performances from Nigel Walcroft, Mark Jones, Adam Moore, and Phil Reynolds, each securing a frame. This victory propelled Anstice B up three positions in the standings. Ballpoint A edged out Dawley G 3-2, with Neil Pearson, Ian Duffy, and Darren Pountney each contributing a frame win, maintaining Ballpoint A's third position in the table. 🟡 Match Week Round-Up – Maddocks B Stun League Leaders in Clash of the Week!

The clash of the week saw second-placed Maddocks B produce a huge result by defeating league leaders Shifnal B 3–2, cutting the gap at the top to five points with a game in hand – and firmly keeping the title race alive.

🔥 Division 1 Highlights

⭐ Clash of the week:
Second-placed Maddocks B defeated top-of-the-table Shifnal B 3–2 in a huge result.
Wins from James Brennan, Steve Powell and Paul Harper secured a famous victory and now leave Shifnal B just five points clear with Maddocks holding a game in hand.

Ballpoint A edged a close derby against Ballpoint B with a 3–2 win.
Wins from Neil Pearson, Ian Duffy and Darren Pountney proved decisive, while Andy Elliot and Paul Waters picked up the points for Ballpoint B.

Bayley A were in devastating form, recording a clean 5–0 whitewash over Bayley L.
Victories from Rungrot Chonirat, Dave Finney, Colin Sweeney, Chris Morgan-Adams and Karl Wilson sealed an emphatic win.

Dawley G continued their good run with a 4–1 victory over Anstice B, thanks to wins from Ken B***y, Roy Leneveu, Laki Badhan and Phil Dix, with Adam Moore taking the only point for Anstice.

Ballpoint A defeated Bayley L 4-1, with Neil Pearson, Manni Singh, Ian Duffy, and Darren Pountney each contributing a win, keeping their position unchanged at fourth. All Last 16 draws for this season’s competitions have now been completed.

⏳ Deadline: Midnight – 21st February
All matches must be played by this date. As per league rules, any matches not played by the deadline will result in players being scratched. No exceptions.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL PLAYERS
Arranging matches is NOT just the responsibility of the home player.
If you haven’t heard from your opponent, use some common sense and get in contact yourself.

Players will not be put through if they have made no effort to arrange their match simply because the “home player didn’t contact them”. Effort from both players is expected and will be taken into account if issues arise.

This system has worked well in previous seasons, and we expect the same cooperation again. Let’s get the matches played on time and keep the competitions running smoothly.

🟡 Introducing the Telford Snooker League – 2025/26 League Cup! 🔴

Tonight sees the launch of a brand-new competition in the league for this season – The League Cup!

Unlike the traditional cup, this one will run off personal handicaps, building on the success of the handicap competitions over the past two seasons.

Key Details:
Format: Best of 5 frames on a personal handicap basis.
Handicaps: Will be confirmed and displayed on the scoreboard before each frame, forming part of the total scores.
Example: Player 1 is off 25, Player 2 off 50. Player 2 would start the frame with 25 points on the scoreboard.

Team Selection Rule: The card will no longer be blind. The home team nominates one player at a time, and the away team can choose who they wish to play against that player.

Frame Play: Matches are best of 5 frames, first to 3 wins, but teams are encouraged to play all 5 frames to ensure everyone gets a game.

Handicap Updates: All updated handicaps will be posted on the website prior to tonight’s matches.

We wish good luck to all teams competing in the inaugural League Cup!

The committee welcomes feedback on how the evening unfolds to help shape the competition for future seasons.
