It’s a big weekend for the Optimists Camp today! Especially following the clubs triple last weekend with all 3 teams bringing home the win. The ones need a win to go top of the league, the 2s are in Pole Position so hopefully they can extend their lead, and the 3s are hoping to make some headway in climbing their league table!! #

We will be airing the England World Cup Games up at the Oval and we cannot wait for it to get underway 📆 Our Marquee boasts 2 big TV screens, a newly refurbished Bar and plenty of outdoor space for children to run and play 🚸

This Thursday 11th June, we will also be airing the opening game at 8pm, following Adults training!! For those who have entered into The Optimists club sweepstake, we will be also picking and announcing the teams at 7pm so be there or be square 🟥⬜️🎰

We look forward to another fantastic summer of events up at The Oval, we hope to see you there 🙏

It’s week 5 of the Devon Cricket League.
Our 1st XI play Ottery St Mary 1st XI @ Home.
The TSCC 2nd XI play away to Clyde Hydon 1st XI.
& the Optimist 3rd XI play away to Bovey Tracey 4th XI!!!

The Hazeldown Oval will be opening its gates early doors and the Bar will be open from 2pm 🍸

Good luck to all teams and hopefully we can bring home 3 W’s 🤞

Today is set to be a scorcher ☀️
We have a packed out oval with our 2nd XI hosting 2nd XI & our 3rd XI hosting 4th XI.

Our 1st XI travel to to play Exeter’s 2nd XI in the C Division East.

We hope all the teams go well, and as always the Hazeldown Oval Bar will be open from 2pm 🍻 🍸

What a fantastic result for the Girls at TCS!! With a number of Optimists in their side, we wish them all the best of luck in the County Final.
What a fantastic achievement 🏏

🏏 U13 Girls Cricket Competition 🏏

Our U13 girls took part in the ‘Chance to Compete’ cricket tournament at Abbotskerswell Cricket Club and were fantastic throughout!

Group Stage Results:
✅ South Dartmoor B – Won 100–59
✅ St Cuthbert Mayne – Won 98–72

The girls then beat South Dartmoor A in the semi-final 86–58 to reach the final against unbeaten Torquay Girls Grammar School.

In a thrilling final, the girls batted brilliantly to post 81 runs before holding TGGS to 75, winning the tournament! 🎉 Ella took the winning wicket in the final over, Daisy impressed as wicket keeper with 3 wickets, and Kadie’s batting was outstanding throughout.

An amazing achievement, especially as it was the first competitive cricket experience for many of the girls. We are so proud of their teamwork, determination, and progress.
