Devon Lions vs Templer Way
Match Report

Ah! What a day!

Great home result for the lions today!! We took the lead very early on from the spot. Chris Ormerod hammers it home, recording his first Devon Lions goal.

Templer kept chugging away, managing to equalise with a nicely struck shot from Clarky. But this didn't drop any lions heads! Back at it again, Chris went on to score a second goal before the break making it 2-1 into half time.

Switch of ends saw the lions playing "downhill" in the second half, we used this to our advantage. Morgan sent a lovely weighted ball through to Ollie, who then converted it within 1 minute of the second half starting!!!

You could clearly see Templer's frustration kicking in now. Credit to our back 4, it's hard to play when your back pockets are full... ;)

We used this goal to march on forwarded. Banging in a lovely long range effort from Ollie, dipped over the keepers and slotted into the goal.

Templer seemed to be running on empty, however due to an unlucky clearance and what looked like a bit of ping pong action with the ball, they manage to sn**ch a goal back. 4-2!

A couple of changes made by Lions, fresh legs Finn decided to have a pop with his left, this again floats over the keeper and hits the back of the net!!

You'd think game over, sit back, relax for the last 15 mins... You're wrong! El Capitano decides to hit a nicely laid ball from the edge of the box. Falls straight into the bottom corner. Beauty!!

Final Score: Lions 6-2 Templer.

MOM: Charlie Lowes, for his work rate and important challenges at the back.

What a game!

We finish our first game of the season with a 2-1 win!

Ollie broke the deadlock in the first half with a sweetly stuck shot into the top corner, assisted by Martin.

Second half, Un-Athletic equalised with a penalty decision going their way.

During the game we had most of the possession and displayed some really positive passing play. Our back 4 stayed strong and worked as a unit together.

In the final minutes we thought it would end as a draw, but no!

Martin went on a run which saw him get through on goal, only to be taken out in the box!!

Penalty awarded and then converted by the captain himself!!

MOM: Ollie Belworthy, for his constant running and just generally being a headache for the opposing defence.
