One thing children remind us of is how naturally we are designed to move đź©°

They don’t question if they look silly or if every movement has a purpose

They just explore what their body can do

But somewhere along the way, for many people movement changes

It becomes something we have to schedule
Something we have to force ourselves to do
Something we judge ourselves on

And that’s when we start disconnecting from our bodies

Of course, structure matters

Having a plan, building strength, improving mobility and progressing with intention are all important parts of training

But the goal was never to build a body that only works inside the perfect routine

The goal is to build a body you trust

One that lets you play with your kids
Try new things
Adapt to life
Move with confidence

That's what we focus on at TSM 🌱

One of the biggest changes I’ve seen in Sam since we started working together has been the shift from simply exercising to genuinely understanding how his body works. Before joining TSM, he’d already found a way to lose weight through staying active and moving a lot throughout the day. The challenge wasn’t effort or commitment, it was that training stayed within his comfort zone. He was doing enough to maintain progress, but a lot of what he was doing was based on guesswork rather than understanding.

As we worked together, we focused on making training make sense. We broke movements down, looked at technique, and helped him understand what muscles should be working, where tension should be felt, and why certain positions mattered. Small adjustments to exercises like squats and hack squats completely changed how they felt. Instead of everything ending up in his lower back, he started to feel his glutes doing the work, his strength improved, his endurance improved, and most importantly, his confidence grew.

What I’m most proud of isn’t the physical progress. It’s watching Sam go from wondering if he was doing things right to understanding exactly why they work. Once you remove the guesswork, training becomes more enjoyable, progress becomes more predictable, and you start trusting both the process and your body. That’s where lasting results are built.

My introduction to Pilates didn’t actually come from wanting to teach it

It started from wanting to understand myself better

At the time, weightlifting was my main focus...

I loved the challenge, the discipline, and the process of getting stronger, but the further I progressed, the more I started noticing gaps

Areas where I lacked stability, control, and connection within my own movement

That curiosity led me towards Pilates and elements of yoga, not as a replacement for strength training, but as something that could help me understand the body differently

Learning about control, precision, stability, breath, and awareness completely changed the way I approached training

But one of the biggest lessons actually came from coaching it

Early in your career, I think a lot of coaches go through a stage where you coach people how you would coach yourself

Over time, experience teaches you that great coaching isn’t about forcing your own methods onto someone else, it’s about understanding the individual in front of you

Their body
Their goals
Their challenges
Their life

That lesson has shaped so much of what The Scarlett Method has become

It’s never about one style of training being “better” than another. It’s about understanding the tools available and knowing how to apply them to help someone move, feel, and perform better

Working with Sam has been a reminder that progress isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about simplifying, resetting, and learning how to be consistent when life doesn’t feel perfectly set up for it.

When Sam first came into coaching, the challenge was creating enough structure and accountability to follow through consistently when work, family life, and everyday responsibilities started competing for his attention.

Throughout his journey, we’ve spent a lot of time focusing on the foundations. Building routines that fit around real life rather than waiting for perfect conditions. Learning that a workout doesn’t need to be an hour long to count. Understanding that looking after yourself isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.

One of the biggest shifts I’ve seen in Sam has been his mindset. Instead of chasing perfection, he’s become much better at recognising when he’s drifting off course and making small adjustments before those small setbacks become major obstacles. Whether that’s getting his nutrition back on track, recommitting to training, or simply finding ten minutes in the day to move his body, he’s developed a level of self-awareness that many people struggle to build.

Watching Laura’s journey unfold has been one of those reminders of why I do what I do.

When Laura first started, she was carrying a lot, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Juggling work, trying to take care of everyone else, and constantly feeling like her own health was being pushed to the bottom of the list. What’s made her progress so special isn’t just the physical changes, it’s the way she’s continued to show up for herself even during the difficult weeks.

Laura’s journey hasn’t been built on perfection. It’s been built on honesty, resilience, consistency, and learning how to create habits that actually fit her real life. She’s worked through low energy, busy schedules, self-doubt, and the pressure of trying to do everything at once and despite all of that, she kept moving forward.

What I’m most proud of is the confidence she’s rebuilding in herself. She’s becoming stronger physically, but also more aware of what her body needs, more disciplined with her routines, and more compassionate towards herself in the process. That balance is where real transformation happens.

As a coach, having clients like Laura means a lot because she fully embodies what The Scarlett Method is about … sustainable progress, self-awareness, resilience, and learning to trust the process rather than chasing quick fixes.

Laura, you should be incredibly proud of how far you’ve come already. This is only the beginning. 💚
