Yes is the south west but it ain’t flat
Yes there are no mountains but still over 3000 feet of short steep hills
Yes it’s not the fells but in places it’s as technical a trail as you will find anywhere…just ask those who stacked it…and there were many.
Yes you get 5-20 minutes between islands…but on a boat crammed with 74 others, trying to change, eat, drink, cry…
Yes it’s beautiful and one of the best events I have ever done.
Top tips: Recce if able. Familiarity helped. The 12 minute per mile cutoff (8km in an hour? Easy!!!) is not generous. Many paths are single track on cliff edges, and running on sand is somewhat harder than your track sessions…
The Cornish coast path is the best training ground.
If you like trails and ultra running in beautiful locations..Enter now. The event is well planned and organised and stress free. You will love it

60km. 5 islands. Countless technical trails.

The Scilly60 is officially in the legs!

Leaving behind the Dartmoor bogs for the white sand and brutal coastal paths of the Isles of Scilly was an unbelievable experience.

From catching the island hops to grinding through deep sand beaches and fighting the high temperatures, every single mile delivered pure, rugged beauty.

Massive shoutout to the organizers, volunteers, and everyone out there cheering.

Shout out to all other competitors too. Had some great conversations.

Time to rest the feet, catch the ferry back, and get ready for the next adventure.

Have you ever run on the islands? Let me know in the comments!

While our big group runs are an absolute blast (shoutout to the last group doing the Exeter Green Circle last month)), I also design 1-on-1 and private group guided days completely tailored to your pace, fitness, and goals.

Whether you want to:

• Recce a specific race route, such as the “Hameldown Hammer”
• Learn how to confidently navigate using a map and compass
• Tackle a long-distance Dartmoor crossing without the stress of getting lost
..I build the perfect route just for you or your private group. You pick the date, I handle the rest.

Spaces for private autumn guiding are limited. Send me a message with the word “PRIVATE” to discuss your goals and check calendar availability!

I get asked this every single week. Take a look at this photo. Our groups are made up of everyday runners, weekend warriors, seasoned fell enthusiasts, and total beginners.

My guided runs are never about racing or leaving anyone behind. They are about safety, confidence, and exploring hidden corners of the national park you’d never find on your own.

If you can jog a road 10k, you are absolutely ready to experience the magic of the moors (and more!) with us.

The fells are calling.

August 2027, we are heading back to the Lakes.
Last time we took a crew to the Lake District, we tackled epic ridge lines, power-hiked massive climbs, ran down essence descents and spent evenings refueling and laughing in a cozy cottage.

It was unforgettable.

In August 2027, is doing it again.

Same wild terrain. Same legendary vibes. But here is the catch: there are only 6 spots available.

To keep this safe, guided, and deeply personal, the group size is strictly capped.

Want 48-hour early access to grab a spot before they go public?

Comment “LAKES” below, and I’ll message you with the private VIP Waitlist link.

A huge thank you to everyone in our local running community!
At the Summer Solstice Fell Race this year, we had the kind use of Nick Fells field (again) for parking, and thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised £160.00.
Nick officially donated 100% of these funds to St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth. As many of you know, St Luke’s does vital work providing specialist care and support to people and families facing progressive life-limiting illnesses across Plymouth, Southwest Devon, and East Cornwall.Every little bit helps them continue offering this essential, compassionate care in our local community.

“A shoe is just a shoe until someone steps into it.”

I stood in my quiet porch after a brutal run across the black bogs of Dartmoor. As I peeled off my mud-splattered Walsh PBs, I found myself doing something strange: I spoke out loud to them.

On the north moor, these shoes aren’t just gear, they are a weapon. Stripped of modern cushioning, they offer a brutal intimacy with the earth. We were locked in a shared journey. They couldn’t cross the moor without me, and I certainly couldn’t have done it without them.

That quiet moment inspired me to do something I’ve never done before.

My poetry has always been kept strictly to myself. Until now.

I am incredibly proud to share that this raw, mud-spattered homage to the ultimate fell shoe is being published in the upcoming issue of The Fellrunner Magazine!

Turn your sound on to hear a community of fell runners read it aloud in this video.
