Good afternoon peeps.
Just in case we have any members looking in, Sunday 27th September the morning of the AGM, there will not be any general shooting before the meeting.
This coming Saturday, 19th, again this is by appointment only. Contact me or use the online booking form, don't just turn up as you may be disappointed. Again, I will need sufficient full members coming to the club to warrant opening. Final booking day is Thursday.

A notice is in the club and members will be contacted later.
Items for discussion are to reach the hon sec by Sept 13th and must be proposed and second by full members.
Any complaints, use the appropriate complaints procedure pinned up in the club.
All items will be vetted by the committee.

Closed August 30th & September 5th

Please be aware of two upcoming temporary closures at the Taunton Deane Shooting Association:

Sunday, 30th August 2026: Range Closed
Saturday, 5th September 2026: Range Closed

All facilities will remain accessible during our usual scheduled hours on all other dates. Please plan your visits and shooting sessions accordingly.

Normal operations and access will resume following each closure. If you have any questions, please feel free to reply directly to this email or get in touch with a committee member.

Morning peeps. We'll be open for general shooting this Saturday, 10.00-12.00.
Bit of maintenance too so we won't be going over the 12.00 cut off for shooting.
Any probationers intending on coming over, we will be short of full members so you will not be shooting for the entire session as the full members will need their time in the range too.
Anyone wishing to pop in for a chat, feel free to do so but before 11.30 please. Thnks

Hi all,
I'm not sure if anyone has tried to contact us via the FB page?
I think a fleeting glance on the phone looked like we had messages but nothing has come through, hate for people to think we're ignoring them. Best bet is to contact us via email, [email protected], cheers.
To any member looking in. Don't forget to book up if you want to shoot this coming Saturday, 18th, 10.00-12.00 and as per usual I'll need at least 3 full members interested before opening up the club.

Well what a day at AFD. 😎
I would like to put out a BIG THANKS to my band of little, not so in some cases, helpers for giving up their time on Friday and Saturday to help with the marquee, both up and down and for their support on Saturday both looking after the club and helping out in the marquee. Thanks guys and gals.
David, Jacqui, Jo, Guy, Glen, Kevin, Paul, Ian, Avani, Matt and to his lordship Lord Parker for sorting out our 'cash point' app on the phone after I buggered it up first thing in the morning.
Thanks to you peeps for making the time to come over for a chat, whether it was about the club or asking Paul and Ian about their collection of historic fi****ms, you'll have gathered that they are both very chatty and have a wealth of knowledge. Also a BIG THANKS to Jo and Guy for bringing up sausage rolls for us in the morning followed by cakes in the afternoon.
Thanks also to the AFD committee for our position, ideal, as on Saturday morning Salty Bills bar set up in front of us and we we're also handy for the loo's, you kinda need to get them mapped out as you get older.🤣 Needed to keep a nose out for the wind change tho. And thanks to the nice young lady who sent over some really nice slices of cakes for us at the end of the day from their stall, sorry I can't recall the name but if I find a pic I'll post it.
Looking forward to seeing the people that asked about membership and we've already had two sign up this morning.

What an absolutely phenomenal Armed Forces Day yesterday! With an incredible 48,500 people in attendance, the energy and community spirit were truly inspiring.

It was a profound privilege to speak with so many of you who stopped by the Taunton Deane Shooting Association stand. Whether we were discussing the technical aspects of the sport, sharing insights into our community, or simply having a good chat, your interest and enthusiasm were remarkable.

For those we had the pleasure of meeting, and for anyone who didn't quite make it to our tent we would be absolutely delighted to welcome you to the club.

If you would like to find out more about what we do, see our facilities, or inquire about joining us, please feel free to drop in during our regular open session on a Sunday Morning: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM - a lot quieter than a Tuesday evening.

We look forward to welcoming you to the range soon! 🎯
