An important message for anyone who wants to start running 🙌

*Why Running Is for Everyone (Even If You’re Slow)*

Let me tell you something that I wish more people heard when they first start running: you don’t have to be fast to be a runner.

Running is for everyone. All ages. All shapes. All abilities.

Whether you’re running your first minute without stopping, doing a walk-run (Jeffing), or just building up confidence to get out the front door — YOU ARE A RUNNER!

When I go out for a run, I don’t care about my pace or my time. I care about how it makes me feel. That energy after you move your body, the fresh air in your lungs, the sense of accomplishment.

You can’t measure these feelings on a smart watch.

I’ve spoken to people who’ve run marathons and still don’t see themselves as “real runners” because they were at the back of the pack.

I just did the London Marathon a few weeks ago and I jeffed the whole way and it took me 6-hours. For those of you that don’t know “Jeffing” is a method where you alternate between running and walking at set intervals. For example, you run 3 minutes / walk 1 minute, or run 60 seconds / walk 30 seconds. I had the most amazing day ever and I was so proud to collect my medal.

It’s easy to compare ourselves to others on social media or get caught up in the numbers, but the truth is, there’s no perfect pace. Your run is YOUR run. It’s not about being the fastest. It’s about showing up, for yourself.

So if you’re thinking about giving running a go, or you’ve started but feel a bit self-conscious — this is your reminder: you are a runner. You don’t have to be fast. You just have to start.

So lace up, get out there, and remember: slow runners are still runners.

Love, Joe x

Hey 👋
It’s me, Linda.
Hope you’re all running well.
If you’re on Instagram and/or TikTok you might see that the SRSR account has had a rebrand!
I’ve no idea what this looks like going forward, but, as a mum that likes to run and encourage others, it will be a place where I start sharing more running stuff, the good, bad, ugly and funny! I’ll be sharing what brands I like to use and keeping it real about how bloody hard it is!
Come find me over on IG and TikTok.
You’ll find me .

This is a tough post to write – but here goes.
After much reflection (as you do at New Year) me and Graham have taken the decision to finish SRSR. Over the past six months, things have changed in both our lives and we have to prioritise those things that are serving us.
It has been an incredible few years running this community and I have made many friends in the running community and learned so much about running a business that I will take forward in the future.
The community group will be archived on Sunday night but Graham and I will still be around on socials. You can follow Graham at Run Graham Run and me on Mum Running Life. We will also be at the running show in our ambassador tops so do come and say ‘Hi’ if you spot us!
I’d also like to say a massive thank you to Emmie, who has been a big part of the journey since day one and Melanie and Kirsty who have been a great support this past year.
Keep on running and thanks for all your support!

💛 Linda

Want a golden nugget for getting up hills easier?
Hell yeah!!
Emmie explains here how using your arms when running up hills can really change the game.
