It is with regret that Somerset County Cricket Club has taken the difficult decision to cancel day two of the Stuff on the Stage festival at the Cooper Associates County Ground this weekend.
The decision has been made following the cancellation of comedian John Bishop’s scheduled headline appearance on the opening night of the festival due to injury.
The festival was planned and structured as a two-day event, with the significant operating costs associated with staging it being amortised across both days. Following the cancellation of the opening night, it is unfortunately no longer economically viable to proceed with the second day as originally planned.
Regarding the decision, Somerset CCC CEO, Jamie Cox said:
“This has not been a decision that the Club has taken lightly, particularly given the disappointment it will cause to everyone who had been looking forward to seeing Soul II Soul and the other artists on the bill perform in Taunton.
“We would like to apologise to everyone who has purchased tickets and made plans to attend. We fully understand the frustration and disappointment that this announcement will cause and are sorry that we are unable to deliver the event as originally intended.
“Somerset County Cricket Club remains committed to bringing major events to Taunton and helping put the town firmly on the map as an entertainment destination. We are already looking ahead and hope to be able to announce some exciting developments for 2027 in the near future."
