I did my first unassisted pull-up in years last week šŖ
Not bad for someone who has injured both shoulders, dealing with SI joint dysfunction and spent years rebuilding strength.
The interesting part? I wasnāt convinced I could do it but my coach was.
Iāve recently started training with Mike at the gym where I train because sometimes even Personal Trainers need Personal Trainers.
In just two sessions he had me:
ā Squatting with a straight barbell again
ā Doing an unassisted pull-up
Things Iād stopped doing because of injuries and fear of further injury, not because I wasnāt capable.
A reminder that sometimes the biggest thing holding us back isnāt our body.
Itās our belief.
The last 5 years Iāve been quietly putting in the work, rebuilding my strength, improving mobility, rehabbing injuries, backing off when I needed to and starting again when I could......it hasnāt been perfect.
There have been setbacks, frustrations and times Iāve had to start again.
But I never gave up completely. I kept going, not perfectly but consistently..... and thatās what pays off.
We can do hard things.
Sometimes we just need someone to show us that we can.
Thatās exactly why I love what I do because every day I get to help women see whatās possible. Not by doing anything magical. but by helping them build confidence, strength and belief one step at a time.
So if thereās something youāve convinced yourself you canāt do...Maybe the truth is... You just canāt do it yet. Keep going....You might surprise yourself.
Donāt write yourself off. Youāre capable of more than you think.ā¤ļø
P.S. Iām still smiling about that pull-up! .gyms .edkins.pt
