Many thanks to everyone who took part, supported and helped organise this year’s Kilberry Loop Sportive. Big shout out to all our volunteers and our sponsors, without whom we’d be unable to deliver the event. We really hope you enjoyed your day and the beautiful Argyll scenery. Here’s a few photos from this morning; feel free to send us on any others you’d like shown.

Conditions were pretty calm today which helped Andrew Naylor of Mid Argyll Triathlon and Cycle Club record the fastest time for the route in just under 1 hour 47 minutes. 👏

If the planets align correctly you may well receive a email with approximate timings next week. If your on Strava you can check how you performed across various segments.

Sunday 2nd August - Kilberry Loop Sportive.

FYI - We have approximately 60 cyclists taking part in the sportive tomorrow morning. Small groups of cyclists are sent out at 2 minute intervals from 8.30am from the Gather in Tarbert, where they cycle north up the A83 to just after Inverneill. Here they leave the A83 and cycle around the B8024 loop retuning to the Gather at Tarbert.

We expect everyone to be clear of the A83 by approximately 9:45am and 12:30pm for the B8024. Cyclists will be reminded they must abide by the Highway Code and we are erecting warning signs around the route today to help cyclist and remind other road users. There will be one food station at Ormsary.

The large hill at the start of B8024 normally thins groups out so you may only see a couple of cyclist at a time after this point.

If driving to the event please note that will be limited parking this year, however thankfully there is ample parking elsewhere in Tarbert (Harbour area, Council car park etc).

You don’t always get blue sky views from Kilberry Head….but when you do it’s worth savouring. Check out the view from the route; we often have a piper located here on the day of the Sportive.
