You don’t always get blue sky views from Kilberry Head….but when you do it’s worth savouring. Check out the view from the route; we often have a piper located here on the day of the Sportive.

A few photos from the Loch Fyne section of the Kilberry Loop Sportive, which is being held on the 2nd of August 2026. This 40 mile loop is a great challenge for the beginner or the cycling enthusiast. A 8:30am Sunday morning start should ensure quieter roads so you can take in the scenery and catch your breath between the hills.

Hi folks, the Kilberry Loop Cycle Sportive is being held this Sunday, starting at ‘The Gather’ in Tarbert at 8.30am. The anti clockwise route takes the cyclists from Tarbert up the A83 to the Kilberry turnoff just after Inverniel, from where they’ll follow the B8024 Kilberry Road all the way back to Tarbert.

As in previous years we are expecting approximately 60 riders, who will set off in small groups from 8.30am. The majority of cyclist will complete the 40 mile route by 11.30am and normally everyone is finished by 1pm.

We are very aware that sometimes drivers can be frustrated by cyclists and, to be clear, all entrants are reminded that ‘they must adhere to the Highway Code at all times and offer fellow road users the highest level of courtesy’, and we hope the event will pass without incident and inconvenience.

Entrants remember the sportive for several reasons but particularly the scenery, camaraderie and welcome received from local people and we are very hopeful that you will feel able to give the cyclists a wave and a cheer as they cycle by.
