🏃‍♂️A new junior parkrun is off to a flying start in Tamworth Castle Grounds! 🎉

Thanks to the partnership between Tamworth Borough Council, Parkrun, and our amazing local volunteers, the Castle Grounds parkrun has been a huge success every Saturday. And now, we're thrilled to announce the launch of a junior parkrun! 🙌

This free, fun, and friendly 2k event is for juniors aged 4-14 years old, and it's the perfect way for families to get active together.

🏃‍♀️ Parents are welcome to run or walk alongside their kids too! 😊

💙🥳Happy 8th Birthday To Us🥳💙

8 years ago I decided to give something a try. I was hoping to encourage people to give running a go without feeling any pressure, to support their physical and mental health in a friendly, supportive group. (Officially on 4th December, bit late 🫣)

Little did I know what a life line it would end up becoming for me!

We look out for each other, we support each other through all of life’s challenges (as well as at running events!), and we do our best to make sure everyone feels included.

You lot have helped me create so much more than a running group.

Launched by Sport England in collaboration with This Girl Can Run to raise awareness and promote a safer environment for women to engage in physical activities,England Athletics are supporting the 2025 Let's Lift the Curfew campaign.

At Michy’s Marvels, we run as a group to help everyone to feel safer when they’re out running. As British Summer Time ends it’s important to ensure that we all feel safe to go out and enjoy a run, despite the darker nights being here.

Greene King pubs are supporting this campaign, and we thank The Amington Inn for allowing us to use their venue as our meeting point for this run.

Tonight a group of us ran together to spread the message that we support EVERYONE feeling safe to get out there and run.
