Bolehall Swifts Ladies 3-3 Nuneaton Harriers Ladies
A battling performance from the home side to start our league campaign against a strong Nuneaton side.
Both sides started well, with chances at either end in the opening stages. Sophie Wardle Hall pulled off 2 brilliant saves in the Bolehall goal to keep Nuneaton at bay.
Swifts took the lead on 15 minutes when a powerful run by Milly Clarke took her into the area, where she finished well to give the home side the lead.
It was soon 2-0, this time strike partner Caitlin Sankey sending a fine shot in from distance that beat the away team’s keeper.
The away side got themselves back into the game with 2 strikes before half time to send the teams in level at the break, this after Daisy Wynn hit the bar with an attempt from fully 30 yards out. Half time 2-2.
Into the 2nd half and again, chances at either end. It was Nuneaton that took the lead with 20 minutes to go when a corner was scrambled home at the near post.
Full credit to the Bolehall Ladies, they kept their belief and were rewarded when Milly Clarke again broke away and slotted the ball past the keeper to level the scores. This after Milly had hit the bar again 5 minutes earlier as Bolehall finished the game strongly.
Overall, a draw was probably a fair result. Credit to both sides for playing out an entertaining game.

Her hard work leading the line, numerous chances created with her strong running and pace in behind the Nuneaton back line, which was rewarded with 2 excellent strikes.
