Last in our meet the coach series is Lucy.

One of our founding coaches and also a director, you won’t see Lucy at practices every week, but she’s working away hard in the background. Lucy helps look after things like the program finances and helps us make important decisions about the future of the program.

Lucy holds all the relevant qualifications to provide cover for any of our classes - and believe us, she’s heavily invested in the progress of all of our athletes!

Our penultimate meet the coach post is Stef!

The second of the three directors and the lead coach this season for Athena. Stef has also been in cheerleading since the early 2000s competing across Allstar and University teams.

We’re not sure you will ever meet someone who loves cheerleading and everything it offers athletes as much as Stef does!

Next in our meet the coach series is coach and director of the program, Nicole.

Nicole started cheerleading in the early 2000s, and never really left the sport, competing across Allstar and university in levels 2-6 and coaching along the way.

Alongside working with Apollo and Astraea, Nicole will be supporting Hydra throughout the season and already has lots of ideas ready to go!

This edition of meet the coach, we’re back to a brand new junior coach.

Lucy has been with us for 4 years as an athlete - last season competing in U12 Prep 1 with Athena. With a younger brother on Apollo - Lucy has been coaching already helping make sure he knows his routine and is practicing at home! We’ve watched Lucy grow into such a focused and mature athlete, deservedly winning our Most Improved for Athena at the 2025/26 End of Season celebration.

Lucy will be starting her coaching journey working with our youngest team Apollo and we’re sure she’ll shine!

In a really exciting addition to our coaching team, meet our new Head Tumbling coach, Zara!

Zara joins us with 16 years experience coaching across gymnastics, cheerleading, swimming and other sports (and more qualifications than we can fit on the post!)

Zara will be working across all of our teams to develop our tumbling technique and difficulty. Zara brings all the enthusiasm and fun to her sessions and we couldn’t be more excited to have her on board. Double tap if you’re excited to get your tumble on with Zara this season!
