This statement is especially true when training with the beginner. The beginner will show us deficits in our technique. To purely guide and lead someone who is unfamiliar requires honest harnessing of their energy.
Flexibilities vary so becoming familiar with how much connection is enough (or not) can be an engaging and informative study.
Seek out the beginner.
Be grateful for the beginner.

Congratulations Sensei Dave! We are so proud of you for receiving 4th Dan!!! Your passion and talent for Aikido is inspiring to us all 👊

Very proud to have received my 4th Dan certificate in Aikido tonight from head of Seijitsu Aikido Ryu Shihan Terry Bayliss. Shihan Terry visited my regular training club at Belgrave Aikido Club in Tamworth and awarded me my grade. Great to have received my grade at the club where I started under Shihan Pete and Sensei Derek. I would like to thank everyone for the training, teaching and ukeing along with all your continuous support, especially for the last four years since obtaining 3rd Dan where I have had to deal with some long term injuries. I am lucky to have a great network of people to train with, not just within Seijitsu, but within many different Aikido clubs across the country and abroad; along with great other styles of martial arts, which also have great instructors and students. All of which influence my personal style of Aikido and martial style as a whole. Thank You. Dave.

🌟⭐️Congratulations Lea🌟⭐️

Last night Belgrave Aikido had the pleasure of watching Lea grade for her intermediate level orange belt. She did a fantastic grading in front of the class, despite feeling unwell. She was awarded her Orange belt by Sensei Derek Pool and the head of our association, Shihan Terry Bayliss.

Well done for a great grading Lea! Keep up the hard work 🙌👊

Learning to fall well is essential. We cannot practice Aikido unless our Uke (opponent) can hit the mat safely, without injury. This practice formed part of our warm-up tonight. Well done guys 👍

SEIJITSU GENERAL MEETING

To all Seijitsu members,

A general meeting was due to be held in January, open to all members to attend and give their ideas to help improve the club and organisation, and to talk about anything they wish to see changed and likewise things that are good and they want to see continue.

Unfortunately the meeting had to be cancelled.

💥💥💥💥💥💥 Happy New Year from Belgrave Aikido Club 💥💥💥💥💥💥

The first training session of 2018 is tomorrow night (Thursday) at 8pm.

Who’s looking to grade in 2018??? What techniques do you need to practice? What areas would you like to improve?

This is a good time of year to set some goals and input courses into the Diary. We have some good ones coming up this year! Event dates will also be added on Facebook very soon.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the mat tomorrow night!
