The trophies are engraved and ready to be presented on Wednesday ... Thanks to TROPHYSTORE.CO.UK LIMITED for turning this around so quickly.

We’re looking forward to rounding off the season in celebratory style at the Staffordshire Squash Cup Finals Night at Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis and Squash Club - Padel.

It’s the culmination of the league season as well, with Tamworth Squash & Racketball Club set to be crowned League Champions, alongside the excitement of the Cup competition.

On court, we have Four Oaks Squash Club vs Lilleshall in the Cup Final, plus the 3rd/4th playoff between Wolverhampton and Oak Park Squash Club - all followed by presentations and a chance for players from across the county to come together.

Good luck to all teams involved - we can’t wait to see how it unfolds!

LET ME INTRODUCE TO YOU YOUR 2025/2026 STAFFORDSHIRE SQUASH WINTER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

For the first time ever in Tamworth Squash & Racketball Club’s existence, we have taken top spot in this seasons winter league.

An incredible achievement from all of us involved. If we go back 4 years ago, we sat rock bottom, losing every week, maybe picking up the odd win. To now winning regularly, beating the best teams out there, pulling out incredible performances and working together as a team, and that’s what it’s all about, teamwork!

I could not be prouder of each and every player who has played for us this season.

Last night we needed 2 points out of a possible 20, to win the league. WE GOT 20
Max points on the board which saw Aaron, Will, James, Tom and Andy all win there respective games!

P.s. we’ll be milking this for a while, won’t be the last champions post for sure ✔️

Right, where do I even start?

Last night was probably the best, and most important win EVER

Prior to last nights match, we had worked out we didn’t need to win, just gain as many points per match as possible, to then take us into our final game of the season needing ‘x’ amount of points to win the league

So let’s start 😂

Andy and James went on first, with Andy Milford going 2-0 down quite quickly. James then went 1-0 down, even quicker. It wasn’t looking good, at all.
Approx 20 mins later, coincidentally, James and Andy met in the corridor outside both courts, and were both now drawing 2-2.
Andy then won in the 5th and James, despite a late fightback, lost in the 5th. A stunning comeback from Andy

Tom Hancox and Will then went on to play, Tom went 2-0 down, whilst Will went 2-0 up against Jon, Tom pulled out a stunning 3rd game performance to get us a valuable point, whilst Will, saw of Jon in straight sets to win 3-0. Tom unfortunately succumbed to defeat but a performance to be proud of from El Presidente

It was all down to Aaron Sedgwick to get us a huge win against a higher ranked player in Jack.

Aaron went 1-0 down, but then pulled out 3 absolutely incredible games to take the victory against Jack to get Tamworth 17/20 points. The match of the night with some awesome rallies

This now means Tamworth need 2 points to win the league, for the first time EVER.

Our game next week will decide our fate, and we’re at home to Oak Park Squash Club1

Come down and support the lads if you’re free, and hopefully see us win the league, LIVE

So proud of the boys last night!

Last night we hosted Lichfield, and as we’re heading into the final weeks of the season, it was a must win to keep our title hopes alive.

Andy and James were first up, with the battle of the Andy’s playing out an amazing 5 games, with Andy Milford pulling the win out the bag in the last, 15-12!

It was the the battle of the James’
Lloyd played some fantastic squash to beat Howard in straight games, 3-0.

Tamworth were 2-0 up going into the third and fourth, needing 1 more win to gain 5 bonus points.
Matt showed his fitness and class to see of a great opponent in Danny, winning 3-0

Will and Aaron were always going to have incredibly tough matches at 1st and 2nd seed, against two amazing players in Pete and Dan, which saw them both lose 3-0, unlucky lads

But TAMWORTH TAKE THE WIN 3-2
We are 1 point off top of the league with a game in hand, the next two weeks will go down to the wire to see who takes home the 2025/2026 Staffordshire Squash winter league title!

Last night we hosted Lilleshall Squash Club in a fantastic night of squash!

Andy and James went on court first.

James took on Keith which saw him come out with a 3-0 win

Andy played Richard in the game of the night! Andy played superbly which sees him on a 5 win streak, taking the match 3-1, and what a match it was, some unbelievable rallies and determination saw Andy get the well deserved win!

The battle of the Tom’s then played, with Tom H taking the first game with ease, but Tom F came out the eventual winner 3-1

Will showed his usual class and beat Linda superbly in straight games

Our number 1 seed Aaron took on Adam, with Aaron coming back from 1-0 down to get the win 3-1!

Tamworth win 4-1, 18-5!

Last week we went to play Four Oaks Squash Club, who currently sit top of the league. The lads dug deep and we came out 3-2 winners!

The league table is hotting up, with a game in hand over top of the league, we have a real chance of winning our first ever Staffordshire Squash league, the boys will have to be on fine form the next few weeks and try and get max points to see us leap frog Four Oaks

A great couple of weeks for Tamworth, this could go down to the wire.

Our final game of the 2025 took place last night over @ Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis and Squash Club - Padel

We knew it was going to be a tough match and when we eventually got going, it went right down to the wire.

Pete did a U-Turn on the A5 after mistakenly thinking we were playing at Tamworth, which must’ve gave him more time to think of his game plan as he came out the winner against Luke which is always a great game to watch

Will took on Kago and saw him gain max points for us 🫡

Andy then took on Mark, with Andy playing some of his best squash to get a stunning 3-0 win and vital points on the board

James played John T, unfortunately Johns experience prevailed and beat James in straight sets.

Then the match of the night, it was 2-2 going into the last match and Aaron took on Tom Da Silva.
Aaron took the first game, lost the second, won the 3rd, lost the 4th. 2-2, deciding game, nail biting match. Got to 13-13 in the last, and Tom’s incredible squash saw him take the win.

We were so close to an amazing team W but we still remain 2nd in the league with a game in hand.

And like that November is over and so sadly will be our mos. We’ve raised a massive £1000 for men’s health and we can’t have done with all those people who have supported us and donated generously! A huge thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼

‘Return of the Matt’

Last night saw us welcome back Matt Faulkner to the club, in what was his first game for us for a few years.

We took on Burntwood Manor, a combined team from Burntwood and Burton Manor.

Andy and James both played first, with Andy winning a fantastic contest against Al Lowbridge in the decider, and James playing some great squash to see off Don in straight sets

Matt’s first game back ended perfectly for him, beating Nick 3-0 to see us take the overall win with 2 games left.

Will showed his class (as usual) beating the tricky player in Gavin, 3-0

Aaron then had a tough test against Jack, which is now becoming a fierce rivalry, and with the game going to a decider, Jack prevailed and took the match 3-2

Tamworth win overall 4-1
In the last 2 weeks, we have a combined points tally of 39 out of a possible 40, with us now sitting comfortably 2nd in the league with a game in hand.

Our next match sees us travel to Wolverhampton

Well played boys
